Don't give up just yet...the seats in a chop top are lowered about an 1 1/2" and you could probably lower them another inch or so by scooping out the foam in the seats. You could probably fit in a chop top.

Nice, they'll fit your car well. I think the Fiero seats may be more comfortable though, I rode in a C4 Corvette on a long trip and it was really bad on the lower back.

My vote goes with the fiero seats also. But this is not a democracy.

You know Corbeau and Sparco both make leather versions of their racing seats and daily driver versions that look really good. Here are a few that I was able to find...
http://www.racing-seats-usa.com/leather-seats.html

EDIT: For better links. Kinda partial to some of the corbeau. They have a more refined look.
http://www.corbeau.com/prod_index/prod_index.shtml

Recaro has some really good looking stuff also. They have ergonomic and orthopedic versions that are about the most comfortable money can buy. $$$$

I too tested both types of seats you're listing. I took the Fiero seat inside the shop and did some comparisons. A lot of money on the line tying to guest w/o them being inside a choptop. I paid a visit to a shop in Huntington Beach, CA many months ago and sat on all of them.
We measured several MOMO seats

Actually a better option would be custom seats. A custom car really needs custom seats. Maybe get a custom frame and see if Mr Mike will do some upholstery for it. One of a kind seats like the rest of the car. Just throwing out ideas. You guys like thinking outside the box.
http://www.glideeng.com/

EDIT: Oh and I was thinking more refined look. More like a high end sports car should. Not a racing seat. Nevermind about sparco, they didn't have anything that would look good in this car IMO.

Thanks for all the great replies and food for thought, but this guy wanted 850.00 just for the used Corvette C4 seats and they would still need to be reupholstered. Plus the seats have a hard plastic back that would rub on my amps. I think I will just keep my current seats.

on second thought I'm going for it, I just love the seats. But not for 850.00

Might be too big, too tall, and too wide? I don't like the way the upper portion of the seat is angled forward too. This may limit your movement and adjustments? Check out a local Viper dealer and bring a ruler.

I like these. Price isn't too bad either. They do look big though.

I stumbled accross these the other day. Thought of this thread. The price is really low. Not sure what size you have to work with but these are 22"x23"x35" which I think would work in a chopped fiero.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...tem#ebayphotohosting

It brought up some other options. Audi, Acura and Scion came to mind and I have found them to be much better priced.

Here is another Audi set.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Stock audi are pretty nice also.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...tem#ebayphotohosting

I also found a bunch by typing "black leather seats" into E-bay. A few good ones there.

EDIT: To fix the link and add... These really stood out to me. 2005 Pontiac GTO
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

95-98 Porche. They have lots in stock ranging from 1-5k, leather and 4-12 way power with heat or lumbar. Expensive but, damn, they are nice. Height may be an issue. What is the max height you can do? I measured approx. 19x21x34 for the fiero seats (measure from floor boards). You can go a little more on the width and length but the height with a choptop is probably right about at the max already. Maybe you can get 35-36 but probably no more then that.

The seats are in, here's what they look like.

Note that none of the Black seats have mounting hardware on them. The gray Fiero seat has the stock hardware on it.

Cool. This reminds me of 2006 all over again; same shop, same cars, and the same guys.

Archie - nice shot of hte early (1988 ?) style corvette seats next to the stock fiero ones. it looks like the driver would sit lower in the 'vette seats because the rear of the bottom seat cushion looks to be lower. Is this true ?

I agree, you need to remember that the 'Vette seats in the pictures don't have any seat rails on them.

However, when you look at the bottom of Troy's Vette seats you can see that the rails are not going to raise the seats very much at all.

I need help locating a complete set of taillight assemblies for a 87-88 GT for a LED conversion. The the condition of the outer lens is not critical as it will be replaced before being mounted. If you have a set 4sale or know were I can locate a set please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
