Just got it back on the road again.Running 3:29 gears now and needed a little help from PCS and Dan was great as always in programing the transaxle. Its just in time for the summer shows.

Okay, it's time for some pictures. This one of my favorite threads---please post some pics in your driveway with angles or something. We would all just "die" if you post pictures with the LSX on the thread, "Fieros on a roll." Here's the link if like to post a few pics. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F.../HTML/053264-12.html
Edit: Ah gees, perfect timing for fresh pics on page 7.

Hey Don!, any chance you could grace one of our clubs (Fox valley fieros) get togethers this summer to show off your monster?? we try to have get togethers every other week for those who can make it to work on each others cars, it would be cool to see you join us for some fun!
Hey Don, glad to see this project has come together so well. I wanted to find out more about the roll bar/roll cage assembly you have. That is exactly the type of setup I want done.
Did you have it built locally or from Doug Chase. Would you take a few more pics so I can get an idea of how it came together behind the seats. Thanks.
Can't wait to find out your new QT times are going to be.
I had a local dragracer that makes roll bars for people make it for me.It cost $1200 to have it made.As you can see it has the swing out side bars to make it easy to get in.If you look at the picture with the engine you can see the bar, painted black, coming through the firewall to the strut tower where it is welded. These are all the pictures I have. This is not NHRA approved because the bar to the strut tower has to come from the top bar through the back window to the strut tower.

Racing season is here so I wonder what times the LS-7 is running. This has to be one of the few big block Fieros running.

"THE COLUSSUS" 87GT - ALL OUT 3.4L Turbocharged engine, Garrett Hybrid Turbo, MSD ign., modified TH125H " ON THE LOOSE WITHOUT THE JUICE "
Exactly! It looks like an lsx to me. Why is it not? Doesn't lsx refer to the entire line of ls engines?
There's an aftermarket (or is it GMPP?) block called the LSX or LS-X or something like that... Don's using a production block, so it isn't one of those.
The engine was an L92 from an Escalade and then was stroked with a 4.100 Callies crank, cnc'd heads, diamond pistons,Comstar connecting rods,Mast Motorsports custom cam,L76 intake manifold and all that made it a 427 with 621hp and 555 pd's of torque at the engine.I used the Ls4 waterpump, pan and harmonic balancer. Thats what makes my LSX.

Not really necessary for threads in the Construction Zone, as they don't get dropped into the Archives, but instead stay alive. So unless one has a specific question or comment on the thread, there's no need to 'bump' them in here.
ON Sept 23, 2012, I disregarded my Dr's advice not to do anything that pulled G's because of bonespurs on my spine pointed at and right by the Aorta AND TOOK MY IMSA 427 to the strip today.I tried to take it as easy off the line as I thought I could get away with and still have good times.I also had the transaxle short shift at 6500 rpm rather than 7000rpm from first to second to keep G's down. But second to third it did shift at 7000rpm.So I know the car has faster times in it than it ran today. !st run, I was just checking it out and did a 1.975 60 ft,at 11.520 and 115.63 mph. 2nd run,I did a 1.649 60 ft at 10.597 and 130.28 mph. 3rd run,I did a 1.555 60 ft at 10.519 and 129.92 mph. Most people know what I'm running, but for those that don't this is what it is: The car was built as a street car and has working air conditioning and nothing was cut to get the engine in.The interior is stock except for a 6 point roll bar, gate shifter 5point seat belts and Auto-Meter gauges. It has an all aluminum 427 LSx engine mated to a built 2007 Impala 4T65E HD transaxle with 3:29 gears and a 10 1/2 inch 3000 rpm stall torque converter. It has a IMSA wide body with a painted Goodwrench logo design and white pearl paint. It has coilovers in the back. The engine dynoed at 621hp and 555 pounds of torque. The engine was a L92 and was stroked a half an inch with a 4.100 Callies crank to get to 427 cu. inches. It also has CNC,d heads with a L76 intake.
I hope this helps you V8 guys out,now I know it CAN run the 9's,I just have to see if I have the guts to do it with my spine.
Have you given any thought to having a good friend make the all out passes? the lower ETs wont matter much if you sacrifice your health to get em. Take care
