I don't think I ever described the hinges we made for the hatchback lid.
As I've stated before I wanted this hatchback kit done so that no mods needed to be done to the rear clip to install the hatch. So we modified the old Fiero decklid hinges to fit under the plastic upper rear roof section of the rear clip.
We then inserted a threaded plate between the 2 layers of the Fiero spaceframe behind the sunroof opening.
The hatch is setup to use the original Fiero decklid bumpers, Key Lock & latch....
On the underside of the hatch where the screens are, we made a flat fiberglass trim pc. to give it the same finished look as the rest of the underside of the hatch. It's glued on at the same time as the screens are installed with 3M Window Weld.
With most of the mods we do here, we don't do final paint here & most paint guys want to do their own prep for paint. Considering that it may be a few months before this car is painted, it was decided that We'd put a coat of primer on it to get it presentable. The guy who will be painting it was consulted as to the primer we would use so that it's compatable with the stuff he will be using when he preps & finishes the car.
So we set about scuffing up the body, Masking it off & putting 2 coats of primer on it.....
Now we're putting it all back together for the last time.
Since Clayton has been having trouble getting the wheels he had on order & since the car will be shown at the Dells this month, clayton decided to get some wheel adapters to move the wheels out 2.75" until he gets the new wheels.
I was impressed with the guy who did the adapters for me. I custom ordered them last Thursday in the evening. Archie got them Monday! Wheel Adapters. I highly recommend them, they can build just about anything you want in just a few hours ready to ship. I would have rather have had my wheels, but we made the best of the situation.

WOW,,i am sorry if this question has allready been asked.(skimming real fast)
Is this hatch going to be made as a kit and what is the cost?
Yes, the hatch is available as a kit.
The price is $675.00 & includes the upper hinge bracket. (you'll have top modify the Fiero decklid hinge to work with it)
It is steel reinforced in several places. The kit doesn't include the 350Z rear window because you can get them locally cheaper than we can ship you one.
Note that the hatch doesn't include the rear spoiler that we installed on this car. You can see pics of the hatch without the spoiler on this same car back on page #3.
Clay, the trailer is ready to go. I finished the new plug and everything works, even the brakes! all it needs now is a car to go on it. call or PM me when you get a chance. D.
I had a great day at Archie's yesterday, it's always fun meeting new Fiero Friends. Clayton your car looks great and it looks like it runs pretty good too Hope both you and Dean have a great time at the Dells and a safe trip home.
I see that Dean is slacking off; no Sunday night update this week! Glad to see you guys made it. Clay(I guess we're neighbors), the car looks great! Have a fun trip!
Clay, here are the pic's from Archies that I got. I just wish Archie would have caught the burnout I did comming back from the test drive with open headers D.
I am glad you both made it home OK. I like that picture of your car next to my old car, with Jessie's doors in the background. Jess could not stop talking about that drive, you blew him away. I got a picture of him sitting in your car after the drive, and I swear, his smile goes from ear to ear. Your car is simply the coolest. Steve
Thanks to everyone for all the support. Dean and I had an awesome time at the Dells show and I have just got settled back in to my normal routine. (I barely had time to go, but I couldn't miss it) Thanks, Archie, Chris, and Rob for all of your hard work. (And Troy for making my trophy look small)
I made alot of new friends last week. Tina and Greg:
And Jess (88lambofiero) Ha, I remembered it.
Thanks for breaking in my tires
I was also happy to get to meet others including Chuck, Steve (pegasus1848), Rodney Dickman, Don Kraus, The Prezzz and many many more. You guys really know how to throw a party! I will definetely be back next year with my wife.

I have been holding onto these rare finds for a couple months now. (Got the last two from a Texas distributor) After getting the car home I couldn't wait to get them in.
Nice job on the completion. I have a question about the digital dash. Where did it come from? That's exactly what I want to do with my Fiero and the digital dash, it looks great.
Originally posted by exoticse: Clay do you have any more body modifications planned or is it ready for paint ? What color do you plan to paint it ?
A couple of minor tweaks involving some more carbon fiber and the mirrors. I'm still trying to decide on paint. I was dead set on black, but after driving it a few days in hot sunny weather. I may go with a lighter color.

No wheel spacers, I had temporary billet hub adapters made.
