Boots look great! Is it possible to make the manual shifter boots with the e-brake style stitching? Just a little more contrast if a different color thread is used. I'd be interested if so. Thanks!

Here is a set of short shifter boots that are going out to a great customer. These and now patterened and you roll the inside up and down to match the heigh of your shifter
Thomas, If I were to send you the shift boot out of my 92 Lumina Z34 5 speed, would you be able to pattern it and make a new one out of the black faux leather?
Ya I can give it a shot. Mail it up to me and let me see what I can do for you. Im sure I can come up with something. Let me know if you need my address again.
I have some suede here I need to try it but I dont think that it will hold up. I do make short shifter boots as well.
Tom
How do you get the spacing to stay even? (I'm asking for other projects, not necessarily shifter boots)
I didn't mean "real" suede. I was hoping for things such as Microsuede, or Ultrasuede.
A good definition for the material is:
quote
see: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-microsuede.htm Microsuede, or microfiber, is a man made fiber. It is a knit blend that is made from very fine fibers that can sometimes be a hundred times finer than human hair. These delicate fibers are tightly woven together to create a dense fabric that has many of the came qualities as suede leather. However, it is generally much easier to clean than real suede and is usually much softer, as well. It is often used on furniture because it is very resistant to dirt and can be very durable.
quote
see: www.wikipedia.com Ultrasuede is a synthetic fabric invented in 1970 by Dr. Miyoshi Okamoto, a scientist working for Toray Industries. It was the world's first ultra-microfiber. Fabric content is 100% polyester. Ultrasuede feels like natural suede, but it is resistant to stains and discolouration; it can be washed in a washing machine. It is a woven fabric, but resists pulling or fraying because it is combined with a polyurethane foam in a non-woven structure. The fabric is multifunctional: it is used in fashion, interior decorating, automotive and other vehicle upholstery, and industrial applications, such as protective fabric for electronic equipment. It is also a very popular fabric in the manufacture of footbags (also known as hacky sacks).
Oh, I like this part of the care instructions :
quote
... You can use most polyester cleaners on microsuede. Rubbing alcohol or clear alcohols, such as vodka, can be used. ..
"Noo, ossifer, I wasn't drinkin'. I was just cleaning my upholstery... "
Thomas, I know some companies, such as www.denverfabrics.com offer free sample materials. Maybe try it out on that and see how well it holds up. What do you think?
Workinmg on some boots today. Here is what I came up with for a customer. I have figured out the Top stitch deal so we can now do that on the shifter boots.
This is going with the blood red visors. I messed ont up so I need to make another and the order is done
