Stuart -

I have been trying to reach you through PMs and regular email. I received one initial response from you about prices, but I have not yet received any subsequent replies from you or the forum moderator. I am new to this forum (or any forum), so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. For instance, I don't know how to check for any PMs sent to me. Please respond, as I am in need of a set of dew wipes.

Thanks,
- Mark Edman / Fiero Mark

Thank you Jonathon!

For me, that one little bit of information is huge. I am perhaps a little overly anxious since my 88 Formula very much needs the wipes and the weather here will soon turn bad. I just need to know if any of Stuart's units are available so I can return some to the Fiero Store, or not.

Keep the rubber side down,

Yeah I have plenty available. Sorry about sending PMs instead of Emails. I don't like the switch to email thing. It's like keeping the same records in two places kinda gets confusing. As of late it has been a bit difficult to get a hold of me since I have been working n a few computers, cleaning my garage, finishing up the last of the dews for this run, and being a daddy to an energetic 6 yr old who's teacher got told where she can shove the ADHD pills, bad thing is I never expected to talk like that in a school, but that was overstepping her bounds. Even threatened her with practicing without a license suite since she's diagnosing children. But to put it simple.... She's just like her daddy, love to learn and do everything ..... AT ONCE!

So Tonight I think I'll be able to get the Quantity On Hand Image fixed to alleviate some confusion, Two sold Kits Boxed and Shipped in the AM and Maybe Just Maybe Get to work on my car that I started BEFORE my daughter was born...

Mark are you implying you bought Dews from F.S. and they still aren't that great? Figured by now they'd have stopped trying to be cheap and step up to the Quality side of things At least Made in USA would be an improvement.

I just sent you payment through my wife's Paypal account (she still uses her maiden name).

It is I who must apologize for my confusion and impatience. I just want the best part for keeping my old sports car in good shape, and I was not sure if I could get some wipes from you, I thought before they are gone (perhaps forever?). I thought that I had to hurry. Clearly, you have very good reasons for not replying instantly. Quite the bold teacher you had to deal with!! You made the right decision.

You asked: Mark are you implying you bought Dews from F.S. and they still aren't that great? Figured by now they'd have stopped trying to be cheap and step up to the Quality side of things At least Made in USA would be an improvement.

(I need to figure out how to indicate quotes from other posts in this forum!)

Yes, buy American!

Yes, I just today received some from the Fiero Store because I was not sure that you are still making them. All my information up until very recently suggested that you were sold-out and there may likely not be any more, and I had not received any replies from you or anyone else on this forum (my fault). Most of my info until just recently was 8-10 years out of date, or unknown date. Combined with my ignorance about using this forum, I just wasn't sure if you were "still around". I am just recently getting my 88 Formula back on the road after sitting outside for more than 5 years (a story for another time). And as I said, the weather here will turn wet soon, hence my anxiety to get something soon since I wasn't sure about yours.

As for the quality, I have not even opened the package to inspect them. The reason that I want yours is that it was clear to me from the comparison discussion on this forum that yours are vastly superior, and that is what I want for my car. Also, I only very recently managed to attend my first monthly meeting of the local Fiero club (Jet City Fiero) after I ordered from F.S., and people there *strongly* advised me to send the F.S. wipes back and assured me that yours were vastly superior and still available. I would not have ordered from F.S. if I had *known* that I could get some of yours. 'Nuff said. I am not unpackaging them as a small courtesy to F.S. since I am returning them. I DO want F.S. to succeed and have bought other parts from them.

The wipes are what I consider an issue of major importance to restoring/maintaining a very nice older sportscar. My car is all-stock, driven daily again, doesn't leak, runs like a swiss watch, nice original interior, everything works, but it needs paint and the original wipes are shot. That will soon lead to big problems with the mechanisms inside the doors (It sometimes rains in the Seattle area!). So, for me, in this case only the best will do.

Many thanks to the best fiero forum and members on the WEB!

Stu, thanks for being there,
- Mark

Shoulder been fine for a while. I pace myself on Dews now.

I'm holding on taking more orders for a few days. I think I have 4 or more people waiting to place orders and I've been in posession of three boxes to ship for this week. Just can't make it to the post office to send them before they either close or I have to get home.

Wife is a Night Class Student and a Night Nurse. Only leaves one possible day to get to the P.O. and that's Tuesday. Except this past tues I worked really late finishing a job at work. Just a roll of the dice. I understand that the three people who are waiting want their parts... I'm trying. I tried the front door pick up, but they won't accept packages over 1lb so they denied the pickup.

Ok Down to 8 sets now.
Been having home issues with my Daughter's Attitude, but went good today, we'll see if it lasts. Dang Spoiled Brat!

Anywho At this time the Shipping dates are Saturday Morning or Tuesday After work. Those are the only two days of the week I don't have to Rush home. (Wife Works nights)

So Down to 8 sets of outers only. No inners at this time, but I can order more soon.
I'm going to start with emails and PMs in order and go from there.

Wow- I own 3 Fieros, I have my eye on a fourth, and I don't think I've ever seen anything other than a sawtooth-style dew wipe, completely bereft of any actual wiping ability. I did not even know it was possible to wipe the dew on a Fiero; what a concept.
I will probably be in the market for at least two complete sets soon, so don't relax yet...

Mailman delivered my wipes today.

I already knew they would be top-quality but seeing them physically confirmed that these things are built to outlast the OEM ones.

I've seen what the Fiero Store's wipes look like in person (a Fiero owner in my area bought a pair of outer wipes this summer and showed them to me) and was able to compare the quality of both and there are no doubt here, DIY_Stu's wipes are much better. The felts are of better quality and you can clearly see just by looking at them that the workmanship is also of higher quality. I love the Fiero Store, they provide the Fiero community with a wealth of Fiero parts that would otherwise be much harder to find but I've got to be objective here, their wipes are cheaper in price and in quality. As the old saying goes: you get what you pay for.

Anyone who needs new wipes should not hesitate to spend more (compared to the ones on the Fiero Store) for DIY_Stu's wipes and get a product that is miles above in quality and workmanship..

thanks for being there for us Stu!

Thanks for the purchase and review. I know I have a few PM's waiting on me. I don't want to open them so they stay Unread to make it easier to find where I left off. I misplaced the metal tabs when I cleaned everything off of my project car and just found them. So tomorrow I'll start answering PMs for this Weekend rush.

I would like to take a chance to fill in some gaps. SOmething serious has come up. It cannot be delayed or avoided. It is life changing and may take a bit of time. I have currently 8 sets unfinished lying on the table beside me. It's not that I cannot finish then it's that I cannot be paid for them at this time. I have currently 12 PM messages left unread about dews in my in box they will be answered in due time. I know this may or may not hurt sales or reputation. Once everything is done at the home front I may be able to resume or have to wait some time longer. This is a very hard decision to make and I appreciate your understanding. I may hand these to someone else to sell. so you may want to watch for them to pop up from someone else.

Hey guys things are getting a little easier to deal with around here. Crown Royal Reserve has been a great help.
Anyhow some of you may be wondering what's up. It's the big D and I don't mean Dallas. look it up if you don't know. Anyhow there's a 6yr old girl in the middle of it.
Support has been amazing, But for those curious no it isn't a bad thing, this is a good thing by far. Sometimes people just have to face the facts.

Speaking of Facts:
I am getting the last 8 sets of outers done tonight. I need boxes like crazy but I do know of one post office that carries them yet it's a ways off. I'm ordering more boxes today but the Post office takes forever sending them. So during this week it's either the Post office has the boxes or not.

I have currently 12 unread PMs and no telling how many read that still need answering. I may not answer them all tonight but will finish up tomorrow night. But none the less production will continue. I'll try to eep up with demand, but there's no promises.
To anyone wanting to take this from me..... Yeah right!

Ok I believe I have way more interest in dews than I have stock. I'll place the order for more materials tomorrow (if I can remember) with all that's going on remembering anything day to day is becoming a challenge. I currently have a house to get back in order, almost all furniture is now GONE except a couch and my daughter's room plus a completely trashed office. Lots of work here on the home front. Still haven't aquired any boxes yet, but I'm making a run to the main P.O. in the region to try to get enough for the stock I have.

Ok what do I have since I seem to be unable to get into my FTP to change the picture.
I have 8 sets and about 15 people interested... I think. I'm making the list right now. TOmorrow I'll get them all wrapped and ready to slide in a box. go get the boxes and pack them. then I'll be waiting on payments from the interested parties that I PM or EMAIL ONLY. you send payment on your own, be ready to wait some weeks.

I know i keep saying i'm going to do this or that yet i never do. I understand how this reflects on my reputation. Instead of doing what i said I'd do this weekend I had to get what's left of my house in order so maybe it can be a home once again. This is only a small step compared to whats left to do in the future. I have nothing to do on thanksgiving day, so i guess I'll use that day to catch up. Tonight I will work on getting the interest list wrote down, pms sent and post the list. I'll also work on getting the next materials ordered including many more inners. Seeems they are getting popular. I may look into a secretary of some sort. Mind is a wreck.

Look out for yourself people, no one else will.

I don’t know you personally Stu but your reputation isn’t something you need to worry about. Take care of yourself and what’s going on in life first. Then when things calm down and clear up and when you’re ready you can get back to your business. If it’s a couple days, weeks or months everybody will understand. And if they don’t, F’em I’ll take their set!

Seriously, health and family come first and are most important, parts for a 23+ year old car…not so much. If and when you get back into the swing of things you can put me down for a future set of outers. No hurry, won’t see rain until spring.

Too bad you are so far away! You are ALWAYS welcome here for Thanksgiving, Christmas.....

....
....
......
.......
Valentines day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Easter, Dr, King Day, Presidents Day, Ground hog day, Secretaries day, Black Monday, Black Thursday.......... you get the idea

Oh, I forgot to add, any day that falls in any given month, that is a Sunday ~ Saturday, that has 24 hours in that given day, and that the moon is in some sort of phase in between and including new and full

Happy Thanksgiving Stu!
