So how much would it cost to upgrade my gen-1 seal? Think I have gen-1 or is it gen-2? I believe I was one of the first to order The corners on my seal are the one part I did not care for; they do not sit flat, rather they turn-up a bit (even after being installed for several months)...
The Gen III seal isn't shipping yet. My parts are sitting in US Customs but hopefully they will clear this week. I not good at "waiting" but I have no choice now.
Keep us posted on whether or not the seals will be available at Daytona this weekend.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that since the corners are in customs right now and Daytona is only 2 days away, the chance of them "NOT" being ready for Daytona is 100%
portland has set a new record... 30 days of rain out of 31 this month... 10 more and i'm gonna need an ark... no more fiero drivin till my new seal arrives, i'm tired of "bailing out" my trunk...

Any update yet Will. If customs is still holding them that kinda sucks. I had no idea they held stuff for so long. I thought all they did was verify its origins and where its going and then let it go if it is all legit.

I would think so... it's rubber parts for crying out loud. How anal can customs get.

Will posted he was waiting for the parts to clear customs.... what in that message would make anyone remotely question if he is still making them??????
I talked to JimmyS on the phone yesterday, and he says Will is fine. He is just very busy with work. He travels teaching Photoshop classes, and Jimmy tells me he has taken about 20 flights in just the last month!
Just be patient. I also am waiting for one, and am quite sure they will be well worth the wait!

has anyone by chance talked to Will or heard from him, or told him he has some anxious clients waiting for some word?
is he safe n sound (and still making these?)

Well I'd think similarly if I paid for one and its been more than 5 months and a long over do update.... wait I did pay for one.
No matter how busy you are it only takes a min or two to chime in and let your customers know whats going on. Even though JohnWPB posted that he is well and just very busy, coming from the source would be better. Some of us have been waiting months so wanting to know whats up is natural. We all know Will is a stand up guy there is no question there we just like from time to time a little info for the simple reason its taken way longer than even he thought. So with that in mind in is understood why we are so anxious for an update.
Jimmy speaks to him more frequently than most of us and though I don't speak for all I would feel at ease hearing an update from him, of course having spoken to Will first so he knows what the matter etc.
Again I don't speak for anyone but my self but if Will or Jimmy say the corners are still stuck in customs and it will be lets say another month then that would be enough for me and I'll wait a month before I'd expect another update. What Will has accomplished by doing these is stupendous to say that least, he did what no one before him (and many tried) could and succeeded and even improved over the first batch.
I will give him a call today, and try to get an update from him directly. If he is unable to post himself in this thread right away, I will relay what I can here......

thank you, that's all we ask good sir.
I fully support Will & the product. Some of us paid in October 2010 with an expected lead time. I know stuff & life happens and we all have one.
If customs needs more info or paperwork then that's one issue; if it's just processing time, then someone needs to push customs a bit. I've dealt with them before and sometimes they need a kick; they're not invincible.
I hope our concern is understood.
Oh & I don't mind being the fallout guy. Anyone want to discuss this constructively or see how we can help Will get these through, then give me a call.

Let me start by first apologizing for my absence from this thread the last few weeks. As many of you know, I travel extensively this time of year but travel has been compounded by my work on finishing my dissertation for my Doctorate in Visual Communications. I have been in 42 cities in the past 49 days as well as spending 18+ hours a day teaching and studying/researching at night for the past 2 months. Make no mistake, this is not an excuse for my lack of focus on the forum, simply a contributing factor. This week was particularly distressing as Saturday we laid to rest my older brother and yesterday one of my oldest friends. When it rains, it pours. When I logged in today I found 12!!! PM's dating back 3 weeks! I have not received a single notification on these but again, I have not checked them either. I will try to reply to each of them today on my layover in Chicago.
On a more positive note, MY NEW MOLDED CORNERS AND EXTRUSION HAVE ARRIVED!!!
I wil start shipping back ordered and replacement corner orders this week and I will not be accepting new orders until the backlog in caught up. This will give me time to build up some stock so I can ship same day as orders come in. Although this has been my intent all along, I have been at the mercy of manufacturers that can seem to understand the meaning of a deadline (although I shouldn't be the one to talk, I haven't been able to deliver as well.) I am anticipating my back orders will take the better part of a week to catch up as I will be home for 12 days starting Thursday and then I will be home for 2 of the next 3 following weeks as well.
Because of the long delays, I was able to "extract" a bit of compensation from my manufacturer and those of you that have paid and waited will be receiving a little "bonus" when your packages arrive. I know it can't make up for your endless patience but your support on this project has been amazing and I thank you very much.
Pax,
Will
P.S. Thank you to JimmyS and JohnWPB for checking in on me. This last week has been a bear and with my dad now back in ICU it nice to have friends like you to vent to! Thank for being there for me ------------------
