Actually that project has gone to the wayside. I spent the last couple of weeks completely redesigning my bucket design to accommodate larger modules. More importantly I have added what I shall call for now a LED city light. You and I spoke about how the beam on the 60mm is more like an E-code than DOT low beam. This is what makes them so amazing in fog and snow. I now have 18 LEDs to tinker with to light up street signs. They will be switched separately to allow you to disable them for fog
When will my buckets be ready? I sent you money 15/5-2011 and you promised me delivery in a month... Ive sent you some email but hasnt got any anwers from you yet... /Mattias from Sweden
"Yes, I sell complete kits. I fact, I prefer to ship my product with the buckets "loaded" with modules. I was unhappy with the adjusters that Hella provided. The Philips heads get buggered easily and it difficult to turn the lower one anyway because of obstructing bodywork. I replaced them with M5 stainless alan bolts. I sell modules at the same price as my supplier.
I have several wiring options: My dual relay Full Time Low harness or If you really want to be plug and play, My "Y adapter" harnesses come attached to the buckets. Three bolts, one plug per side. It actually will take longer to aim them
Thank you folks for using my e-mail through my website. I cannot sort correspondence with the PM system.
Here is an update of what I have going.
I continue to build and sell my 9090 and 6060. The 9090 has been for people who have modules and don't like or have issues with their current set-up. The 6060 on FTL is just plain better.
I will soon debut a new 6060 with a LED citylight, stay tuned.
he's right. it takes longer to aim them than to install. keep in mind that you might need to make a few trial drives to find a comfort zone. also good to make sure your lower part of the assemblies are level. makes a world of difference.
i can't wait to see the led ones... sounds like you're talking something like the halo lights on a bmw?
also, in the original post, there are no prices for these. did i miss them? or did they get edited out at some point?
i'd be interested in the 6060, but i'm curious how you keep the buckets from going all the way up. shorten the arm in the headlight mechanism? and are these literally plug and play? do you retain true high/low beam functionality? sorry for all the questions, just haven't read through the whole thread yet.
The halos on the newer Bmers are CCFLs (cold cathode fluorescent). They look great during the day as well as night.
One of my favorite things about the Fiero is that during the day, your lights are hidden. The stock sealed beams not only work poorly, but they look goofy as well. OK, let me rephrase "work poorly". Sealed beams in a Fiero blow. If I had my way (and budget), I would tour the country to give night rides in my car to make "Hella Believers" out of all Fiero owners
What I am designing for the Fiero is different than all the new production car headlight accents. The aesthetic design is based on in town speed, low beams only. Let's face it, the deer will not see a thing as you fly by with quad Hellas burning.
i did read through the rest of the thread after i posted that, and it looked like, fully finished, i could get the 6060s for $627. but in this line - "(Di-Noc wrapped buckets, modules, dual relay FTL harness for rear battery, Paypal, and US shipping)" - what is di-noc and what are ftl harnesses?
Di-Noc is Architectural Film made by 3M. It is a heat conforming vinyl that has the appearance and texture of black carbon fiber. No functional purpose, it just looks cool.
I make a "dual relay FTL harness" FTL stands for Full Time Low, meaning that your low beams will stay on even after you bright up.
Why is this important? Dedicated optics of of separate high and low beam modules make very different beam patterns. Projector low beam modules, in particular the 60mm, evenly light the entire close-up roadway from left to right shoulder. With these low beams you do not need cornering lights. ( edit... Nor do you need fog lights ) if you are driving quickly on a twisty mountain road at night you want to see down the straights as well as into the corners.
The harness has two relays, one for the high beam and the other for the low. They are independently fused and fed directly from the battery. The stock headlight switches and wiring are still used to control the new lights
sweet, thank you for the informative reply! i appreciate you taking the time to do that instead of just yelling google at me.
if the di-noc is what you had on the 6060s, that looks AWESOME. the closest non-carbon cover that i've ever seen to the real thing.
for the relay, if i understand it right, one bulb is low beams and one high, and it just makes it so when you switch high beams on, the low projector stays on as well, correct?

Correct. The reason a dual relay harness is required is that you will double your amperage through the stock wiring should you "jumper" the highs and lows to get this feature.
That my friend is a prototype of the new 90mm Bi-Halogen with LED citylight. I installed it with the new module Saturday morning at the Northwest FieroFest in Washington state. I have not soldered the LED boards up yet. soon
I did answer the most important question. The Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon will fit in this bucket.
I had the chance to meet Hairballrm @ Northwest Fierofest this past weekend. What a great guy. Seeing this system in person, and taking a ride in a car equipped with his lighting is a real eye opener. You never really know what you are missing until you can actually see what you are missing.
I too really like the new LEDs that he is incorperating into the system. With what you are doing for Fiero lighting, I wish you a long and successful career. Great concepts.
Thanks for your kind words, it means alot! BTW.... wow, your car has nice paint.
about LEDs I have changed direction slightly. I am working on a "LED Appliance" that will mount to the front of the bucket instead of mount internally like the one you saw. Once I get the cost (and labor) down, I"ll be able to install this feature on buckets already out there. I have not finalized a design yet, so sketches are welcome
We shot video the other day of the opening and closing of my 6060
Holy cacophony batman! those gen I motors make a racket!
I really wanted to show the motion/interaction of the bucket sideshield with the headlight door "web". What you see is my 1st LED set-up. The final "appliance" version will be different. The face of the bucket will be 15mm forward.
In the background passenger side, I am running the new 90mm Bi-Halogen. Folks at Fierofest got a peek at it on the Ice Cream run. I will post pictures of that soon
Whoaaaa, let's rebuild those motors, buddy! (That, or go Gen II).
Looking good as always. Love the innovations you're coming up with.
I had a chance to drive around Saturday night with the Full Time Low wiring setup with the 6060's in the Team PontiAxed race car. The new Halogen Infrared bulbs we put in for the high beams are CRAZY bright. I almost feel bad that we might be blinding people we're overtaking on the race track. Oh well, our lights are just the best around, bar none.
It is official, no more 6090 The 6060, 9090, and the Bi90 are three versions for the Fiero I make. The website does not reflect this yet. All are available with LED "city lights"

Any updates on Xenon/HID setups? Side by side pics? Any other updates?
