It warms my heart to hear that you are able to get out and stretch your legs in your Fiero. The fastest I have ever run my Fiero at night was just over a 100mph. The Pontiaxed Chumpcar will hit 105 to 110 at PIR on the front straight. Door flutter has not been an issue due to the lower profile.
My Superlow will not do this. If you like, I will ship you everything you need to upgrade. You need to lengthen your harness, so I will send you the wire and loom as well. I highly recommend you upgrade your high-beams to HIR
There is only one catch. I want to see in car video of you going this fast in a Fiero at night!
You are one of the most helpful, grascious, and respectable sellers that this forum has. I am a better man for having met you Rick. You always are extending your hand, even in threads that are on the same plane as yours. Not something that we see often.
Rick, ol' buddy, if we caravan, you in the van, I in Asterix, I'm gonna be BEHIND you! Also, I'm looking for GT intake manifold (all three parts) that are ported and polished. The company that I was gonna get the set from no longer offers them. Bummer. I will post this request on a new thread, too.
JP and I took the van for a test and aim run out in the dark last night. Very enlightening.
I am going to answer a PM here:

Are these Hella modules all weather proof, or do they require enclosures that keep them directly out of water?
Weather proof but not waterproof. They are vented in the rear. They do not need to be installed within a weatherproof composite assembly to protect their internals. Just don't drive through a river with these.

Also, the lenses on the front, have you had any reported issues of them breaking from stones/rocks since there is no outer protective case that they sit in?
No one has told me about a rock hit yet. Frankly I think it is just a matter of time. I build pop-ups, so you do not have to worry about this in the daytime. The 60mm have their lenses in the front for all to see. If you get rocked, it is going to cost you $50 bucks. I understand that replacement front glass is available for the 90mm fixtures. I just have not had to do so.
I drive a Fiero and never tail gate anybody, especially gravel trucks.
These 60mm Hella lights truly are high performance lighting. They were designed to be run in tandem on sportbikes. My favorite balanced configuration is quad 60s with HIR bulbs in the high beams only. HID light sources may be brighter, but they lack the sharpness of a filament bulb.
Now on the other hand, the Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon is awesome! Man,.... does this sucker carry light downrange! For $561 US Dollars each, they better!
I've been busy here, getting some minor (in the grand scheme of things) remodeling finished. With that out of the way, I finally got around to unpacking my 6060s.
They're works of art. Very nicely constructed. I occasionally deal with commercial grade telecommunications equipment, at work. The included wiring harness is as nice as any harness that ever came with a several-thousand-dollar multiplexer unit or microwave radio shelf.
Just noticed this picture shot and posted by one of my customers.
I like it so much I used it for my headlight facebook page.
I have not been on the forum or pushing lights lights this winter. I had to move my family and shop. Kids can walk to school and I bought them a dog. Life is good!
I had to part company with my webmaster and start fresh. A member here has built me a website from the ground up. It turned out so nice, I am beyond pleased. The "placeholder site" is gone. If you have been there before, check it out. ProjectorRetrofit.com The image gallery will expand and always will need Fiero glamor shots. If you have new pictures, just post them to: facebook.com/pages/ProjectorRetrofit
Chumpcar 2013 has begun. 36hours in Spokane will be epic. Tony, come hang out
I've had these things installed for several months. Just got around to taking pics. Quite a nice product. The only issue I've had since installing is that the left side high beam projector wanted to scrape the lip on the inside of the hood. A little bit of scraping on the lip with a pocket knife provided enough clearance. Not a big deal. It didn't do it at first, so I'm guessing that "some settling may have occurred". Can't identify where, however.
As I said, this is a nice product. Install was easy, and the workmanship was top notch. This, coming from someone who installed commercial/industrial telecommunications gear for quite a few years.
Left side bucket
Harness w/ front mounted battery
Closeup of fuse holders and harness
Right side w/ relays and FTL jumper placement

Chumpcar race at Portland International Raceway this weekend. I have lights in two Fieros and I get to drive one. We are hoping a third from the the Great White North makes it.
Yes I agree that is a beautiful red notchie! It needs my lights in it. I still make and sell these, but....... I have been very busy, and I have have been turning people away.
We just did our first Chumpcar race this past weekend. I ran for the last two hours in the dark.

Any chance of getting you to make a modified set of buckets for the 4x6 rectangle headlights? I don't want to do the rounds. Thanks for any input.

I could, but it is a huge amount of work and my priorities will be elsewhere for a while. I might have some seconds lying around, I will look. You would want to install these: H2110 165mm Free Form Hi-Lo H4 Conversion Headlamp Kit, DOT and ECE You must also promise to never install HID in them
I had a very gracious member build me an awesome website about a year ago. Unfortunately, it did not survive the BlueHost 5.4 update. I'll fix it when I can.
I have been very busy out of town working. Many people have e-mailed me to build lights and unfortunately I do not have the time. This has never been about money. I like to drive fast at night. It is about performance.
I will continue to support the teams I sponsor. If you race LeMons or Chumpcar, I am here to help. If you are taking a Fiero to the 37 in Topeka, call me now.
I cut these parts 5 or 6 months ago. I have had time in the shop to assemble some 6060pp buckets.
My prices have gone up. 6060pp loaded with stainless adjusters and modules $450 6060sl and 90bh60sl $325 plus modules As usual, my stuff is guaranteed for life.
Unfortunately, I do not have time to install CCFLs, Di-Noc, or build harnesses. I can however, provide you with resources to do so. Please contact me via questions@projectorretrofit.com Make sure you include your PFF name. Please do not PM me because I generally only have time to lurk lately.
Everyone, this is the identical blog article I just posted in General Fiero Chat. I posted it here for posterity.
Evolution of a Race Bucket
Go back two years. I had come to a dead end with my plug and play design. I was never going to be able to fit the Hella 90mm Bi-Xenon alongside a 60mm projector. I had to start from scratch.
Fast forward a year, the “Super Low is born. Main design requirements were three fold.
Fit the larger projector next to my purist trooper 60mm fixture. A lower opening profile than that of “the Fiero King” Door must raise evenly without twisting of the lid and damage to custom paint.
Now go back 30+ years. My first car was a red 1971 Mercury Capri. SOHC 2 liter 4sp live rear axle. German Ford drive line that birthed the Pinto. My thing was night driving. I had some really good mountain roads near where I grew up and I spent a great deal of time pushing the limits of adhesion and this poor car’s limited suspension. I did have dual sway bars and decent tires.
I came to understand slip angle and four wheel drift. What I could not see was the apex. I mounted some 55watt JC Whitney driving lights to the sloped sheet metal under the bumper and they looked supercool. Problem was they lit up the road straight ahead and I was still flying blind in the corners. I took my shiny new lights and twisted them outwards. It looked like hell but worked great. On more than one occasion, a helpful friend got down under my bumper and “re-aimed” them for me before I could stop them. I had discovered the “cornering light”.
Now go back to last year’s ChumpCar season. I get introduced to “Pontihack”. A team that has 5 seasons under their belt. They are not Fiero guys. They chose it because it because of its mid-engine advantage. They have a roll cage our team needs and their off road floods blow. They were gearing up for “the 36” in July. A trade was in the works!
Enter the “SLR” (Super Low Race) a 90mm Bi-Halogen and an inboard horizontally amiable 60mm projector.
We installed and ran the set-up at Spokane last July. Game changer. Tech got a good look my system, but other teams did not. In fact, this is the first time I have published these close-ups. We still had to race at PIR in October.
Come October, I installed similar buckets in “Pontiaxed’ and “Miss Fieroline”. Fieroline went the next step and has 90mm Bi-Xenon outboard. I was terrified we would bang up the front of the car and lose $1000 worth of lights. Sunday morning, before our 6 hour day race, I pulled all the projectors out.
This year, there are other subtle things I am holding close. I’ll tell you all about it next year. Rick

LOL! Did you ever get such a video? I mean, when the Fiero wasn't being air transported?
I have not heard from KissMySSFiero. He was in Germany and driving on the Autobahn. I believe he is stateside now. I am hoping he has a Fiero here.
I have been trying to acquire good in car night video for a while now with limited success. I did get a tummy ache and a silly grin after a strapped in ride along with JP.
