Wow, what a great weekend at the track.
I had lights in two Fieros and got to drive one of them.

The event was over three days: Friday 5hrs, Saturday 13hrs, and Sunday 6hrs.
Fieroline blew another engine several hours in and did an engine swap back in the shop in four hours.
Saturday both cars started, ran well, and finished even better.
At the end of the race in the dark it was raining hard.
I was watching the live timing and noticed Damian's and Justin's lap times were right up with the leaders.
In the dry we have trouble keeping up because of our horsepower inequality.
(Did I mention it was dark and raining?)

Pontiaxed started running funny on the second to last lap and coasted through easily without loss of position.
Saturday night they did a bleed down test as they thought they might just have a blown head gasket.
Turns out something major went south and they were out Sunday.

Fieroline had a delayed Sunday start due to clutch hydraulic issues.
We ran back to the shop and pulled master and slave from Pontiaxed and into Fieroline it went.
I did not get to drive til Sunday and the owner graciously let me have first and last stints.
I got some solid dry track in the last hour and it was epic.

"in order finish first, first you must finish"
We were on the track and raced for 13hrs straight.
I am privileged to be involved with these Fiero Teams!

You did miss a good time.

BTW
I just found a local guy to do Hydro-dipped carbon fiber on my buckets.
$60 will include a "carbon grey"base coat, pattern, and gloss clear coat.
What is really exciting is that the base coat can color matched to the car.

He's still in business and I can tell you after seeing them in action that they work great. So much better than original and have a much lower profile when the headlight door is opened plus they look cool!

Yes, I am still around.
I definitely have become more of a lurker here.

I am very pleased with the Hydro-dipping guy I have found nearby.
I'll have pictures soon

Mine are on order. In my mind's eye, I can already see them installed. In reality, I still have to remove the old lights.

Lots of work for this project. Rebuild headlight motors, replace bushings, replace strips on back of lids, treat area for rust, and assemble. May also require that I pull the radiator to check/treat the side supports for rust. If that happens, I'll probably need to replace all the rubber coolant hoses, and treat the metal ones for rust, which will require a coolant system flush. Since I'll have to take the front fascia off, who knows what I'll find?

I've had mine for several years now. I love them. I wouldn't own a fiero without these lights. I drive my car daily, so good lighting is critical.
