Wow, what a great weekend at the track.
I had lights in two Fieros and got to drive one of them.
The event was over three days: Friday 5hrs, Saturday 13hrs, and Sunday 6hrs.
Fieroline blew another engine several hours in and did an engine swap back in the shop in four hours.
Saturday both cars started, ran well, and finished even better.
At the end of the race in the dark it was raining hard.
I was watching the live timing and noticed Damian's and Justin's lap times were right up with the leaders.
In the dry we have trouble keeping up because of our horsepower inequality.
(Did I mention it was dark and raining?)
Pontiaxed started running funny on the second to last lap and coasted through easily without loss of position.
Saturday night they did a bleed down test as they thought they might just have a blown head gasket.
Turns out something major went south and they were out Sunday.
Fieroline had a delayed Sunday start due to clutch hydraulic issues.
We ran back to the shop and pulled master and slave from Pontiaxed and into Fieroline it went.
I did not get to drive til Sunday and the owner graciously let me have first and last stints.
I got some solid dry track in the last hour and it was epic.
"in order finish first, first you must finish"
We were on the track and raced for 13hrs straight.
I am privileged to be involved with these Fiero Teams!
