Because of the plywood base underneath where the liners go there isn`t any room for the outlet to go in front. And if there were a void there only the tall ones would be able to use it because the fronts of the shorts aren`t that tall. Mike
I just got finished installing these parts and I couldn't be happier with these armrest / cupholders, and the compartment door! The material matches perfectly, and the workmanship and quality is simply outstanding!
Thank you very much for a great addition to my black 88 GT, and some positive feedback left for you!
Robert

Got my stuff today and all I can say is WOW! Very nice work. They were sitting in the living room from about 4:30 till 10:00. I could not take it any longer so I worked till 11:30 pm to get it installed. Turned out fantastic. Thanks Mike for a great product!
Now if I only had a nice rear console!

No problem. Just telling it like it is. The interior of the Fiero that theis will be used on is completly out of th car right now. I hope to be putting up pics in the near future. May buy another one later this year but got too many projects working at the moment. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, ZZP Intercooler, 3.4" Pulley, N* TB, LS1 MAF, Flotech Exhaust Autolite 104's Custom CAI 4T65eHD w. custom axles, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I had thought about punching a hole in the plastic panel where the power mirror switch goes and putting a cupholder in... but that's even nicer. It also raises the padding up to what should be a comfortable level for me. (I'm 6'6" I have to almost lean towards the center to rest my elbow on it)
I was always worried it would interfere with the shifter though when you actually had something in it.... I take it from all the positive reviews however, it must not be a big issue.

Just a bump for a great product - road tested my arm rest/cupholder over the weekend - just shy of 1600 miles round trip. Lots of twisty mountain roads! Not one spilled drink! Thanks again for your great work Mike!
Just a quick check with people who have bought my cupholders. Another member pointed out to me that in my instructions I say to use a T-15 torx screwdriver to remove screws. He said that his screws are T-10s and I was wondering if anyone else ran into this. My car is an 88 but does anyone know if the earlier cars had smaller torx? I guess it`s possible either my screws were changed out or his screws were changed out. Most of you probably already have a set of torx drivers but I am going to change my directions to read "you might want to check to see if you have T-10 or T-15 screws. I don`t want anybody buying a driver they can`t use. Mike

Thanks, Robert I guess maybe my screws were changed out or maybe by 1988 Pontiac was just using anything they had laying around. I will change it to read "use a torx driver" Mike
Got my 2nd one installed today, great product. I really like the way the newer version attaches compared to the original. I will be sending my old one back for an upgrade to the new mounting tabs.
I just ordered two, I saw the one Katatak had when he came to Gunnison, and it looked great so we are getting one for each Fiero. I will post pictures when we have them installed.
