SOLD OUT

Custom cradle stiffener to better strengthen the front tranny mount area.
We have seen hairline fractures between the bolt holes in this area with stock mounts and a 2.8 engine.
This is a bolt in or weld in application so it can be fully installed with motor still in car.
Can be bolted in from the bottom with only removing the nuts on the tranny mount for a quick short term fix.
Recommend to have it then welded on by muffler shop if no welder available at home.
Cradle stiffener will work on 84-88’s.
Highly recommended for higher HP application

Cradle Stiffener $25
Shipping and handling on Cradle Stiffener is $8.00 (US)

Now this is a great idea. I've had two cradles suffering fractures in this area. And one was a 4-cylinder cradle! It took a lot of time to fabricate a repair, I would have spent the $ in a heartbeat.

Hey, that's a nice piece !

I see this was done on an 88 cradle. GM should of made this area using thicker steel.

Some spots I find they should of improved for a longer service life. I guess GM didn't design it to
last forever. That's where your idea / improvement pays off for us fiero owners that want to keep
our fieros on the road for many years to come.

A very good idea.

When my 4.9 was installed, a 3/16 - 1/4 inch plate was welded in. This looks even better.

And yeah... Even a stock engine has enough torque to crack the cradle at the front trany mounts. Especially true on the 88s.

Looks like a great idea, especially if you can install
without removing the engine (bolt in). I would be interested if
you make some more. Put me on the list.

Good news
Fab shop is estimating around 3 week delivery and the cost should remain the same.
Please express interest ASAP to insure we make enough for demand.
