Offering up service on building the pass side axle for the 3800SC swap when using PR/FieroX or WCF mounts. The axle is plug/play when using the the mounts listed and a stock auto DRV side axle can be used on DRV side. I supply all the needed parts to build the axle. $250 shipped for axle....I use all OEM parts and no aftermarket parts. PM or post here if interested...

Do you know what power range they will be capable of tolerating, and how much HP one should have before considering the axle "the next weakest link"? I'm thinking of adding an intercooler. I'm on the edge right now with an XP cam, WCF headers, and GenV SC. I'm using rubber mounts though.

Thanks,
Greg

I run the same axle setup I sell and have on my swap for the past 6 years with no issues. That was canned, ICed, and cutting hard launches with 1.6s. Nosrac also runs the same axle setup with same MODs running around the same times with no issues. Hard to say when the axle will become the weakest link but with ur MOD list u will have no issues. I can tell u that u need to ditch the WCF style headers cause they r killing u on.the exhaust side....

What's your best recommendation for the exhaust? I considered 3" SS WCF, but just have the 2.5" now. I didn't wan't to cut the trunk, or I would have went with the TOGs over the SLP or Pace Setters. Not quite sure what the best bang for the buck is.

Thanks,
Greg

This all depends on what ur goal is HP and MOD wise..I don't care for WFC headers as they r prone to cracking and way over priced. I run TOGs but also cut my trunk but Amir runs then and didn't have to cut his trunk just dent it a little.

I did have to dent the trunk barely if any. I really like the TOG headers. I haven't had any issues with them in 9 years of having them. I am going to be pulling them off to ceramic coat them soon and my entire exhaust. Really good deal on the axles being built. If I ever break one, I know who I'll be emailing. I've been lucky and ran multiple 11 second passes with no issues, on the strip and on the street hooking up quite well with no issues.

Take care,
Amir

Hello MBW

We need some info. we are swapping a 2000 3.8 sc from a grand prix into a 88, getting rid of the getrag and using a stock 4T65E-HD from the donor. we are going to try and use the stock mounts cut from the donor cradle and mock up to fit the 88 cradle. Can we use the axle that you supply trying it this way?

Can you tell me total cost +shipping to 95624 please. What would be the eta for the part?

I will pm you my contact info as I am not on here too often.

Thanks

Any reason you are not making engine/tranny mounts to go with them? There seem to be no reliable vendors for these, and it would be great to sell a kit to go with the axles- ensuring they all work together. PR and Fiero X mounts seem to be knock-off/improvements over the WCF mounts, but there seems to be no "real" vendor selling proper 3800 mount kits.

Just a thought...

I have thought about making up mounts that pretty much copy the other 3 mounts mentioned but really dont have the time to do so with everything else I have going on. I have brought it up to another vendor that is in good standing but hears nothing else about it..

I forgot you made these, I got mine locally for the same price but after only a few runs it spat grease all over. During my recent upgrade I had him replace it for free but if it happens again I will surely be buying yours.

Probably over packed the boot with grease..Ran into this issue with the axle I built for my swap when I dropped it for clean up. I used a new axle I had been holding onto and it resulted in slinging grease out over a period. I just cleaned up each time and it finally stopped..
