Ok, bought this a while ago but just got around to installing. Install was not too tough at all. Only thing that was a bit off was that on My 86GT the trunk popper wire is yellow with a black stripe, not gray/black as noted in the instructions. Luckily one of the other posters here ran into the same thing, and posted the correct wire (This wire color is what is shown in the 86 FSM). One other trick I added was I took the programming wire and ran it through a little latching pushbutton switch I had on hand from another project, and than tied it to the ground for the receiver. I tucked the button up under the dash next to my sub enclosure and now any time I need to program, I can just pull it down and press the button.

Rich (and Page 3 Owner), did you wire to your footwell light on the passenger side? If so, was the white wire from the light the correct wire for your white wire from the RKE, or did you have to use the orange/white wire on the light like I did?
And, yea, the yellow/black is the correct trunk pop for 86 . . . and I *think* 87s.

So, just to be clear, on yours the orange is carrying the 12 volt and the white is ground?
That is exactly correct!! And agrees with the FSM. With the Bulb out on the Passengers side the Orange wire side of the bulb socket reads +12V to ground with my digital multi meter.

Just wanted to share one other thing I decided to do as a part of this upgrade project. I was wanting to jazz up the key fob unit a little bit.... it was a bit plain Jane for me.... I cannot take full credit for this one, as I drew inspiration from forum member Oreif, and his awesome door tabs he used to produce when he was still active on the forum several years ago (And Who's product I proudly have installed on my car). Anyhow here is what I did.... I have 2 fobs.... first one is done, second one is in progress. Not super easy to tell, but the diamond inside the arrowhead is silver.... it's much clearer and less washed out in real life... Anyhow, super happy with the product and this upgrade!!

That's crazy that mine tested out with a digital multi meter to be the exact opposite. The car is low mileage with no evidence anyone had messed with the wiring before me.

Yeah.... not sure what the dealio on that one is..... Only way to know for sure would be to follow wires back and see what's what.... Not sure it's worth it just to answer the question.... Maybe a couple pins/wires going out to your courtesy lights got inadvertently swapped in a connector..... Just for grins and giggles... did you check the wires on the drivers side.... are they reversed the same way??? Edited: From the diagram below it looks like they would have to be, both sides are wired together in one set of pins on C209.

I would start with C209 - it is a two cavity connector that ONLY feeds the courtesy lights (circled in red) in the drawing attached. It is located by the LH side of the instrument panel, by the shroud.
Hello ! Ineed one with two fobs, I dont know if there is actuators at mine doors. Can you ship to Finland and how much is shipping. I am seriously taken this parts. Teemu
Your November sale got my attention. I'm in for $58 for 1 module and 2 remotes, but got few questions about future plan of installing alarm system. Would it create a conflict? PM sent!
As an FYI for those of you with stock subwoofers, this installation is not quite as easy. Save yourself time and frustration and first remove the front passenger side dash speaker along with the subwoofer as it needs to be gone before you proceed. Just unbolt the three screws that hold in the subwoofer assembly and lower it down, no need to unwire it unless you want to.You will need to have the front speaker out in order to re-install the subwoofer box back into place once the wiring to the door lock solenoid is done. Next try to find a spot for the KE module. On my sons 87GT w/factory subwoofer and cruise control, I ended up just using some industrial strength velcro and stuck it under the heater box back against the passenger side footwell. It is up out of the way and fairly easy to get to and run the wires needed. You don't even know it is there unless you get down on your knees. Also, be sure to add enough wire lengths to the module on the bench for where you intend it to be mounted and cut to fit when in place. You can cover the wires in electric tape to simulate much of the factory wiring. Its not a lot of fun to solder overhead. As someone else previously mentioned, there is no difference whatsoever if you wire to both light blue wires and black wires versus only one each of them as they are all going to terminal C2 B ( blue) and C2 A ( black) of the door lock relay. If anyone can explain to me how it will open first the DS door, then the PS door, I would love to know how, given the fact that they are both energized simultaneously from the module. The orange wire goes to C1 A of the door lock relay. Also, be sure to verify that the white courtesy light wire in your car is in fact the ground of your courtesy lights. I really like the light on feature when opening the doors and/or trunk. Overall this is a great upgrade but it takes some time and patience to make it fit like factory. If you don't have cruise control or if you have converted it to the electronic version via the AR cruise control servo, then you will be able to locate the KE module in place of the old stock Fiero cruise control module along the drivers side tunnel area. I plan on doing this on my 88GT but it will take a bit more wire to reach the door relay. For those who have no factory subwoofer, the passenger side subwoofer amplifier location would seem to be the best location for the module if you wish to hide it. I don't understand how it is mounted if not located in this place as I would not just hang it from the wires going to/from the door lock relay. Hope this helps others. Curtis

8 Wire Connector: 4. Red/Black- Not used 5. Orange/Black- Not used 6. White- Connect to the white wire going to the light 7. Gray- light blue wires 8. Tan- Splice both together, black wires on door lock/unlock connector next to light 9. Black- Ground screw for power lock relay 10. Orange- Orange/Black wire at power lock relay
FYI im out been out for 2 years used to see 20-30 of these cars in local yards now see 1-2 every 4 months. Most do not have this option. I have 1 module but i am keeping that incase my modules go bad.
You can find these modules here
control box found in 93-95 camaros and firebirds. The box is found on the kick panel in front of the passenger side door under the trim piece. remotes are called ABo0104T with the pontiac emblem.
Hawks motorsports from easily sc might have modules. I used to buy and sell stuff with them for a number of years. i would assume they want 80-100 for that module with pigtail. Remotes cost have gone up considerably used to get them for 10 each now see them from 25-30 each on ebay.
