Thanks Dennis, you're the one that talked me into the 4.9 swap :P
What else would I need to do the swap? I assume motor mounts and modifying the harness minimum... I'm not familiar with what else I would need to get besides this stuff, I know the 3.8 since I researched that swap more, but I want a 4.9 now after talking to Dennis the other day.

Both engines have their advantages. IMO the 4.9L is the easier and FAR less expensive swap to do. In the 1/8 mile the performance is really good. On the other hand the 3800SC is quicker in the 1/4 mile but for around town the torque burst of the 4.9L is impressive. My 3800SC /4T65eHD with mods cost me over $6,500 to do. My 4.9L/4T60e will cost about $1600 to finish . Except for the exhaust, swap harness, and the usual hoses, it uses all std GM parts. If you do a stick swap then add a flywheel and clutch + $500. I do not try to talk anyone into doing any swap but the 4.9L does get excellent hwy mileage, has good torque and gives smooth performance. I am installing one (60K mile engine) in my ragtop for smooth, quiet, highway cruising. If racing becomes the primary requirement then the 3800 is the ticket.
If you want to know more about swaps come over, take pics and see both.
