Did any other platform use the SD4? I just don't see many (if any) Fiero owners being willing to cough up that chunk of change for this lot. Not saying it's not worth something, just saying most Fiero owners are..."frugal"

Kansas Racing Products doesn't seem to be around any more, so I'm not sure. They were the main aftermarket producer of SD stuff, after GM stopped making them.
I know it may be a nuisance, but Brand and Part Numbers would be good.
It's likely they're not all different (he may have 6 of the same PN for example). At least we could search for the specs then if they don't have spec sheets.
This is really cool! Is it possible to get a price breakdown for per part basis, like block, head, crank, etc. I know I can't afford the whole lot, nor would I have a need for the whole, but individual parts would interest me a lot more, and others may feel the same.
I am also interested in some dry sump parts if he has any. I have a pan right now...
He said he does have some dry sump parts and will look through them and get back to me soon
He asked if the engine is for street use or racing, he said instead of a dry sump he always recommends an external belt driven single stage pump with a vacuum pump on it, he said this setup will make more power than a dry sump system

It is a street engine. I have researched running an external scavange pump, however, finidng those pumps for a reasonable price has not been going well. The cost new is prohibitive. I even bought an oil oump from a Ford duratec engine to try and adapt it. However i need to figure out the flow rates of the duratec pump and SD4 pump or it could all go south.
Radar, KRP is still around. Call or e-mail me for the number. I have a brand new, unused, KRP Fontana block with a Chevrolet bell housing bolt pattern. Original cost is $3500. Make me an offer.

Thanks Bob. I'm not gonna be calling KRP. Way too rich for my blood. I just thought they were gone, since the web page is... defunct? Nice to see that I was wrong.
I don't need anything with a Chevy bolt pattern, but I DO owe you a call. My bad. Been sidetracked. Life happens. Will call you this week.
Any of the cranks still available? Specifically the Pontiac 3.0 stroke or the Moldex. Specs, measurements or photos? the prior ones posted looked pretty rusty and therefore would need machining to make useable. Thx.
Would you be able to find out if there are anymore parts available. Im looking for a cylinder head and a 3.25 crankshaft or a KRP rear main seal adaptor for the marine crank.
I gave my friend your info, he is a busy guy but hopefully he will be contacting you soon; I'm not sure if he has a separate Kinsler setup for sale, or if he has one already installed on a complete engine for sale

How realistic is it to attempt to put together an SD4? Are the parts required still relatively easy to find, or is it closer to being a lost cause??
The SD4 engine was a limited production high performance 4 cyl built back in the 1980's. Its rugged, bolts in and can be built to over 200 street-able horsepower . If you decide to build one just take into consideration the cost vs reward. SD4 parts seem to come up from time to time and I do not believe they are that hard to find.

Parts do come up from time to time, but it is not easy to find something that is fairly priced and in good condition. You can find well used rusted parts, and you can find well cared for parts. The well cared for stuff is going to be prohibitive cost wise. Better to do a 3.4 V6 swap. Also if the block you get is a 5 roller bearing style, you will have a heckuva time finding a camshaft for it that will be streetable. Most all of these cams were originally milled for race applications. Yes, will make 230+ HP, but only 7000 RPM. At street speeds, will be a dog.
