After much work and testing the 84-88 cradle brace has now been reproduced. Confirmed: Fits all years!

Cost - $50 + Shipping (Estimate Currently 15 Canada wide, 20 United States)

*I have some gently used boxes now so shipping is a bit more affordable now - boxes for this bracket size were expensive!*

*going through the list sending DM's if i dont receieve a reply in 48 hours I move to the next person*

Here are a couple pictures of the product. This is for the tranny side of your cradle.

I have fantastic positive feedback and 0 negative feedback.

***UPDATE: We made another batch and are available now!***.

Thanks for your interest!

Yes to strengthen the tranny side of the cradle. Prone to cracking in one spot on swapped cars.

Great job, they look super solid!
I will put out the word down here in Texas, I know a couple guys who have done swaps on their 88s.

This is great! nice job. Question though, are you making these for pre 88 cradles? are they needed for pre 88 cradles or are they stronger in these areas than the 88 cradle?

These were technically designed for 88's only. I haven't looked into pre 88's. You can purchase it for pre 88's but there is a possibility it may not fit.

What swapped engine would it be good for? 3.4, 3.8 or LS?

No benefit for stock engine? Is there a picture you could show where the cracks tend to occur in one spot?

How much does it weight?

I can get a number for you. not much at all.

Here is a similar one sold way back - more info here and pictures. From what I can gather it can work for 84-88 but its more important to 88 cradles. Notorious issue with higher hp engines.

So how does notorious for higher hp engines equate to 88 cradles only ? I thought pre 88 had the same stock engine and as far as swaps it doesn’t really change between years.

The 88 cradle is very different. Those differences are what causes significant more cases of cracking in combination with a higher HP engine swap is based entirely in the design. I Reproduced this bracket for those members with 88 cradle concerns but the bracket should fit Pre 88 fieros as well per my discussions with some other fiero members on this forum. I havent had a chance to test it on other vehicles and see if there are any changes or issues year by year. One day if I have time I can check. If people are interested in one for a pre-88 fiero i cannot guarantee compatibility or fitment but again I believe it should work. It could be entirely possible that a small modification to the bracket may be necessary to clear any small cradle differences. My concern right now is for people with 88 cradles with higher HP engine swaps. When i mean higher HP engine swaps, im talking 3.8, 3500, 4.9, etc etc. They have a lot of HP and torque and I know many owners with this combination that have cracked their cradle. If you have a smaller engine swapped naturally aspirated, not many changes like a 3.4 for example I can't imagine the HP difference making any significant strain on the cradle. But again, if you want this as an insurance to your car hey go for it stronger is better. Again almost all of the people I know who have these issues have higher HP engines 3.8, 3500, 4.9, etc etc on a 88 cradle hence why I offered this great piece to the group to help them with their issues. You are more than welcome to buy one - just can't guarantee fitment and any improvement for your specific application.

Enjoy

Thanks for the clarification much appreciated. I was thinking of these for insurance once I put my supercharger on my 3.4 which will put me in the higher hp range similar to a 3800. Thanks for making these. If you can put me on the list that would be great. At 50 bucks Canadian it’s a no brainer

Oh ok I see you changed the currency to USD from the original post. Makes sense. I thought 50 Canadian was way too cheap for the time and effort put into doing this. Thanks for doing the fiero community a favour. We need more guys like you! Are you planning on making any other parts?

That’s great can’t wait to hear. Put me down as first in line! If it hasn’t been made in year I probably don’t have it.
