Starting Summer 2021, i will be offering a PANTERA body kit for your FIERO. All of my Panteras will have wheel Flares and a lower front valence. Check out the video on You Tube: Type in 777HBL17.
There are 3 videos. Pay attention to the one in primer grey. It is a few minutes long of a walk around. That's is David's Pantera, who i bought the molds from to the Pantera kits.
This Pantera has the 94 inch Fiero wheel base.
I am building my own Pantera on a stretch 1986 frame with a wheel base of 98.4 which is a real Pantera wheel base.
I will sell the kit to buyers in different stages
1. Unfinished straight out of the mold 2. Primer ready to paint 3. Bolted to your Fiero(94 inch wheel base) (Not Primer) 4. Your fiero stretched(98.4 inch wheel base) (Not Primer) 5. Turn Key 1 (94 inch) Fiero. Painted (your color choice) 6. Turn Key 2 (98.4 inch wheel base) Painted(your color choice) 7. Turn Key 3 Pantera 98.4 Painted. Custom Interior, similar to a Pantera. LS V8. 500hp
Pantera is the only super car that people customize the most. Real Lambos and ferrari don't get customize too often, this is why a Pantera kit makes the most sense. Plus, it is the coolest of all super cars in my humble opinion!
If you want a Pantera kit, let me know what stage you want. Prices will range from: $8k unfinished to Turn Key 3 $35k plus
The picture you see is a real Pantera! This is a Turn Key 3 minus the rear wing, I don't like them.
yes they are. David is a good guy so he seems. I guess he didn't want to build anymore I guess, so I will be using them to build Panteras. One exception; i want to do stretch frame panteras. My experience is mostly with corvettes. I have major health issues but I have a son better at it than I am. We both will do builds. I will last as long as i can
From 2006-2014 I lived about 1-2 hrs from Dave and got to see some of his work on that kit. I am glad to hear continues to be developed. Here is the build thread for the grey one: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum3/HTML/000081.html
Here is a picture with my blue Fiero next to both his Panteros at the 25th.
beautiful blue fiero you have! that grey fiero is now red i'm told. I'm stretching my 86 fiero gt next month if somebody doesn't buy it first($2000)....lol I'll be making body panels early summer. I have a LS7 to install in the first build. Check back anytime thank you!
This is great, and I think you're quite right about a Pantera being a good match for this purpose. Not only from the lack of "purity" in Pantera builds, but also in terms of construction and final look & feel. I've never been a fan of Fierarris, but this, this I could get into.
i agree with you, ferrari doesn't do it for me either. i drove several real panteras before and i gotta say, my last fiero with coil over suspension and a modified supercharged 3800 handled better!
time to make a pantera fiberglass car better than the original
do you guys like the idea of stretching the frame to 98.4 like a real pantera? mine will be
The unfortunate thing that makes the Fiero a horrible platform for ANY replica build is the annoying high roofline. Unless you chop the top, that roofline just screams "fake". Look at any non-stretched Ferrari or even the Mera, the roofline ruins the look. The yellow one in the pic looks horrible while the grey one on the left looks correct. I'd say for anyone who builds one of these to 100% go with the stretched version and take the time to address the roofline and windshield.
I've had a chance to sit in and briefly drive a street legal track ready pantera gts, that is a WIDE car, even without the flared fenders. Made my lowered fiero gt at the time look like a toy... And as IMSAGT said, you're going to have to add a stretch and address the roofline and/or maybe elongate the windshield like some 355 kits did.
That would make for a really nice looking replica but its hard to tell what remains of the Fiero kit car hobby today. Out my way people seem to want to spend $2K-$3K for a Fiero with the occasional fancy ones selling at $5-$6K. A Mera recently sold for $13K but supply and demand for those seems low. Good luck on your new business. A nice web site may help get the word out.

you guys are correct. the builds will include a chop and drop plus a wheel base of 98.4. I think a longitude power train shuld be included as well.
I told my son about getting these molds and he is excited to be apart of it. I have not told him yet that i have pancreatic cancer. I will tell him only at the last minute that i know if i am doomed or i make it through this ordeal.
I hope to be building with him along time. This project does keep my spirits up. ciao" for now!

Brother, you can't just try and drop that in a conversation like its nothing. I pray that you have complete healing. Not sure I would approach it the same way you are but I do understand why you are making that choice.
i can drop it in any conversation i want. It helps me to cope with my misfortune and it is as big deal! i will continue to fight, might beat it might not! In the mean time, I plan on building Panteras with my son until i know my outcome. However, I have a great son that can build anything and he loves Panteras! will post pics of 1st build around april. ciao"

You absolutely can. I was just taken back a bit from it. Everyone copes differently. My sister at 20 was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and they gave her a couple years to live. Needless to say its been over 10 years now and she beat it. It is possible!
Please keep me in the loop about this kit and your progress, since I previously owned a Pantera that I purchased from a local Lincoln-Mercury dealer back when they were affordable. That was when I was heavily involved in road racing and starting up my chain of speed shops. Thanks, good luck on all fronts and most of all stay safe and healthy.
i would like to see another Pantera in person just so i can take measurements to ensure that my kit will be an exact match. i can't find any measures for example: what is the width on the inside from window to window. i believe the Pantera is wider than a fiero. also. the length of the back deck from the window to the rear. those 2 measurements i wanna know
Cool car...I always loved the Pantera although I was more of a GT5 version more so than the earlier style. Not to highjack a thread but I also see a lot of old friends in this thread. Hello Guru..Imsa...Dennis.....
How are things coming along? After watching the video of the chop top car, the chop plus the stretch will get it so close to looking perfect. I have a wide body fiero already but I keep longing for the pantera look. I would be interested to know what pricing you are thinking for just raw plugs popped out of the molds.
