Hi All!
My grandmother bought this puppy brand new off the Pontiac Lot in Wheaton Illinois in 1987. I have inherited it; having big plans to maybe do a swap project, but have since lost interest and do not have the space for it, unfortunately.
It is in great shape; it has been garage kept and 'grandma driven' it's ENTIRE life, sans me driving it for about a tank of gas or so, so far!
It has most service records, lots of original paperwork. I put brand new all season tires on it just to see how it rides - it rides great actually!
NO leaks, NO creaks! Brakes feel good; i had the car inspected and they found no obvious issues or anything needing replacement.
The only issues i can find:
Saggy headliner (which i 'fixed' with a few twisty pushpins)
Speakers can't handle much bass without crackling
Steering column is a little loose (the wheel shifts a bit up and down, easy fix which i might just do)
AC needs a recharge
The paint is in overall good condition - a few small scratches, it has NOT been polished (at least not on my watch yet), and i bet with a good polishing it will look great.
The wheels clearcoats are pitting just a bit
The rear 'pontiac' logo is broke, i can't find a replacement off hand
The passenger side 'arrowhead' is missing.
Otherwise, cosmetically in great shape.
New tires, new battery.
Last records (carfax) indicate the fuel pump and injectors being replaced. Before that, engine mounts, body lubrication, etc.
Pop up headlights work!
Windows roll up and down (crank) with ease
Starts right up, runs smooth, all gear changes smooth
Brakes take a lot of foot (as they all do, i assume) but are smooth!
All ~90hp seems to be on deck!
Handles sharp (despite the loose steering wheel column)
I have driven this thing literally about a tank of gas and holy crap, i get thumbs up and shoutouts EVERYWHERE. I have a 400hp golf r that noone seems to notice which always surprised me lol.
All said, located west of chicago in Illinois.
Selling for 8000 OBO. Not in a rush, reasonable offers considered.
Of course serious buyers can come check it out, i can send more pictures, etc.
