I've turned on the signatures option for the forum. This means that the software will automatically add a few lines (your "signature") at the end of each of your messages. To edit your signature, click on Profile at the top of each page. To include your signature in your message, click the Show Signature below your message (only visible when posting a message).
Please keep your signature reasonable (one or two lines), nobody wants to scroll through lines and lines of the same text every time they read your posting.
This is a try-out. If it turns out that this feature greatly reduces the readability of the threads, I will disable it again.

I'd to second or third or whatever the advice/plea to keep your signatures simple. In another unrelated forum I occassionally visit some people have like 500 word signatures. It slows downloading times, takes forever to scroll through, and is just incredibly annoying. I think for the most part folks here are quite well behaved, however, and this won't be a problem.
Now if we could just get back the power to delete our own posts....
I agree, 2 lines for your signature should be enough. About the deleting of posts: I'm currently setting up my new webserver (boy, that's a lot of work...) and as soon as that one is up and running, I'll enable it again.
The new server looks good - I did a few tests, like doing a search on this forum and it was about ten times faster.
