Tiajaunia..or --did ya wanna? old Mexico is only a border away from there. If you have to ask what to do (or who to do it with) you probably shouldnt be there anyway......
HINT: Drink the beer, not the water. Use a condom....and YES, the bullets at a cactus down there work just as well as a gun club up here....difference is, after ya shoot a cactus, you have (must) drink its blood (Tequila) out of respect for shooting it......
OH, frack---NO, I wont do that again----doesnt SanDiego have a nice marine museum or something ?
<edit>
Canadians, hookers, guns, live amunition and unlimted tequila....yeh, THAT one was a good idea. Only ting we were missing was the Jamacian bobsled team, and they smoked tier dope and said you boys are crazy.....

well, ive been stationed in San Diego for nearly 5 years now. To better help you out.
how long are you going to be here, when will you be here, what are some of your interests (no since giving ideas on something that you have no interest in doing)
thurs, fri, sat, leaving sun am, staying at the Marriott Marquis and Marina
dinner on fri on the Midway.
our thoughts were zipline at the zoo, Coronado Island, Balboa Park and the Automotive Museum if it's worth it, one of the whale watching tours
Is Hodads any good or is it hype? What's a good restaurant with a view?
Hodads is alright. to me its no better than your typical bar burger. but none the less its pretty good. if you want a really good burger and one to remember. go to slaters 50/50 in liberty station. Liberty Station was the old Navy Bootcamp for San Diego that was turned into a public venue.
as far as the best view restaurant. alot of people will say bertrand at mister a's. This is a fancy restaurant where you sit on the roof and can see the sky line. and its close to the airport so the plans fly pretty low over head. but for me. i think the absolute best view is Candelas on the Bay in coronado. Its nice but not to fancy. and the prices for the food are very resalable.
Balboa Park is great. it has old spanish missionary buiding and such. The zoo is good, but its nearly $40 a ticket. And to me, thats to much to see animals stand/sleep/**** lol
If you can plan it. i highly suggest doing the kayak tour of the La Jolla sea caves

Well, there is always Black's Beach if you are interested in that sort of thing. I like the cove at La Jolla if you want to swim or snorkel.
Nelson
Ha! I was just about to mention that. Google Torey Pines Glider Port, its located there. Balboa Park, not far from down town, it has lots of museams and the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (Theater), watch a 360 degree movie) Birtch Aquarium san diego whale watching http://www.hornblower.com/p...iew/sd+whalewatching
2 weeks after you arrive, the Carlsbad flower fields will be in full bloom, cost about $11 plus a few more for the tractor ride (optional). Google:Carlsbad flower fields
It has been a while since I lived in San Diego but I did like Balboa Park and remember a very nice restaurant at the Del Coronado hotel. It was a bit pricey but very good.
SanDiego Zoo and Coronado Island ...if you go to Old Town Sandiego, eat Mexican at the restaurant with the chicken on the rotisserie in the window and where the ladies are in the other window making the tortillas by hand. It's a very nice city that I wouldn't mind living in. Oh, and enjoy the approach to the airport!
Near there is Marina Del Rae where you could visit the tide pools. You could go by the Military Cemetary there and drop some flowers off to Robert VanVyves site for me. Other than that, what everyone else has been saying.
Too much we wanted to do, not enough time. Thursday we were dealing with jet lag, really for the whole trip. No time to really adjust or attempt it. Toured the Midway and walked around a little. Had lunch at the hotel outside bar.
Friday we went on a whale watching cruise that was originally 3 hours but they stretched it to 4 and when we didn't see any whales to 5.
One was spotted but it was a ways away and gone by the time we got to it. It's between the two boats.
A pod of dolphins jumped around and played with us for a while.
Got a little sunburned.
This is as close as we got to Marina Del Ray cemetery.
Had dinner on the deck of the Midway.
Saturday we rented a car (for $55 including tax) and drove to Coronado Island and walked the beach looking for sand dollars. The tide was going out and the best time to find them was low tide but we didn't have time to wait. Had lunch on the beach at the Hotel del Coronado.
Drove up to La Jolla and went kayaking. Dropped the car off and did some shopping. Dinner was one of the worst experiences I've had in a while. Ordered fish and chips and one of the fish's batter was still raw. The waiter ignored me until I had finished the rest of the meal and drank my pop and water dry. By that time I got the manager. Had my meal comped but it still left a bad taste. Got up and packed for the ride home.
