Without hearing any audio, why did the guys in the car incite it? It looks like they did.
Wonder when their "Karma" comes?

This happened to me on SR 41 in Tampa on Monday March 24th. This pathetic excuse for a human being tailgated me for about three minutes. After about a minute, and me shaking my head, I pulled out my phone and started recording. I couldn't move over because there were trucks in the right lane, and I sure as heck wasn't going to speed on a rainy day with the roads being as slick as they were. I was turning left in about a half-mile when this happened. Now bear in mind, that this guy had already passed a truck in a left turn lane, was tailgating and driving recklessly on a wet slick road, wasn't paying attention, and all in all being an ignorant ass. In the full video which I will post later, you will be able to see that not once was I mouthing off, I never brake checked him, and in fact until I watched the video after the accident I didn't even know he shot a bird at me because I wasn't looking at him at all, I was paying attention to the road while holding the phone up with my right hand. I've recorded circumstances like this before, catching idiots doing stupid things, but never ever had this happen.

He initially fled the scene of the accident, but thanks to this video he has been caught and charged. Massive props to the Sheriffs Department and most especially the Highway Patrol who responded to the scene. This moron could have easily killed somebody with his moronic behavior, and my laughing at the end would have been replaced with tears. Needless to say though, I've never seen Karma come back so fast.

He could have moved over easily from what I saw. Didnt it look like he sped up when the truck tried to pass too? Or was that the ford backing off and speeding back up for no reason? (if so then I understand a little more) He also states this guy had done a bunch of things that were not recorded, we have to take his word on that.

There was a shot of the speedo and who ever was shooting the video was doing under 50 MPH by their own speedo in the left lane, I would be real surprised if who ever made that video doesn't get a ticket for impleading the flow of traffic. just one more example of someone being a dick just to be a dick. If they don't they sure as hell disserve one.

It didn't really look like a highway, but just a 2-lane state road. I'd guess the speedlimit for the road was probably anywhere from 40-55. There are a lot of roads like that in rural areas of Florida where the speed limit is 50, and then drops quick down to 30 as you near a small town.

My guess is that the guy was in the left lane, but then AFTER the trucks passed and the video started, he chose to not move over. He was driving a 2008/2009 Jeep Patriot from what I could tell.

looked like a 4 lane divided highway to me with exits to the left, what idiot engineer designed those, That's just stupid.
with exits on both sides of the road it gets confusing to drivers, I have literally put millions of miles on the roads all over the country and they still piss me off. Even been to Miami a couple of times and unless the roads have changed in the last 40 years since I have been there, that road did not look wet to me. I mean I know it rains every dam day down there but WTF, that doesn't mean you can't change lanes at 50 MPH now does it. From what the guy said in his comment he was tailgated by this guy for over 3 min, more than enough time to pull over to the right and let him pass and then change back so he could make his exit to the left.

This is how he responds to tailgaters? Why not just move over for two seconds and let him pass?

Are you suggesting it was his fault the guy was tailgating him? You did read the comment posted above where the guy said he was in the left lane in order to turn left ahead and that the road was wet? He is under NO obligation to move over so some speeding a$$hat can go faster. If you watched the video you saw the tailgater pass him then slow back down in order to flip him off, then accelerate until he lost control. His actions and resulting loss of control speak volumes.

it says in the comment from the video by the videoer (Is that a word) he/she was taking the exit on the left coming up, yet you can see he/she does not take the exit in the video, anyone notice that? one more reason to think the person taking the video was BS and caused the entire incident.

From the video comment by the videor

Notice what I highlighted in red, if she from the voice had been going to turn left in a half mile, the video is 2 min long, she would have gone past her exit while videoing now wouldn't she?

I do too on freeways. This appears to be a surface street. Either way though, sometimes you have to be in a certain lane (sometimes the left) to get to a destination or make a turn. Here for example, there are lots of stretches of Interstate/freeway where you have to stay in the far left lanes to continue straight, or make an exit. The street I live off of, if your on the Interstate, you have to be in the middle of 4 lanes to make the exit. The left 2 go straight, middle my exit, right goes to an entrance of another Interstate. In town, on surface mulit lane roads, there is no real passing lane. I did clearly see some marked turn lanes in the video.

In the video takers defense, she said it was a 50mph zone...she was going the speed limit. I did see them pass a big flatbed truck on her right, so she couldnt move over. Soon as they cleared that, the pickup zoomed up past her on the right, (and seeing a girl driving I assume), backed off to drop back and flip her off. He looked like he tried to cut her off when he did pass, and did it quick enough on the wet road, he simply spun out on his own. If it was any kind of a setup, he screwed up his own truck and just barely missed having a head on with a semi going the other way. I seen he hit one of the yellow poles, and couldnt tell what else he hit (fence, bush or sign looked like).

There is no "passing lane" on a divided highway. You would be right referring to the interstate and many states have laws stating slower traffic keep right. This does not apply on a divided highway. I have a left turn on a very similar road and I am sometimes forced to get in the left lane early in order to make my turn. If someone rides my bumper because they are in a hurry it is not my problem. And if they get belligerent it means I'm not about to make any sudden moves.

I don't condone tailgating or cutting anyone off but it is very irritating when someone is going 15 miles below the speed limit and wont get over. Especially when they can see traffic backing up behind them.
Tampa road ways are bad enough, rolling road blocks don't help. Some people think they need to police everyone else on the road.
She didn't want to get over because there were trucks, where are there not trucks. Especially Tampa.
IF you feel unsafe then perhaps evaluate why you are on the road in the first place.

Too many people ITT are judging the wrong driver. The jackass in the truck caused his own crash. I don't care if the other driver was driving slow in the fast lane, didn't take their turn, was on a highway or regular four lane road, or was laughing after the dumbs wrecked his truck. None of that matters. The guy in the truck was tailgating, was passing dangerously, speeding up and slowing down, throwing the bird and got what was coming to him. I thoroughly enjoyed the video. 10/10 would watch again.

She was going 50 which was the posted speed limit and why she shot some video of her speedo. Thats what she said on the morning news show. If shes going 50 in a posted 50 zone, how do you figure shes going 15 under. .....because the dick in the pickup wanted to go 80 ?

Here in BC the lady would have gotten a large ticket for using her phone while driving as using any electronic device including a GPS is a ticket able offence. (not reading a GPS is fine, just entering stuff) This also applies to using an IPhone/Ipod to play music on your stereo. However tuning your radio is a gray area.

Personally I think they are both idiots. Her for blocking traffic and him for not knowing how to drive. If I want to speed and get a ticket that is my own issue, however by you driving slower causing me to drive even faster to get around you, makes you partly at fault.

I dont see her doing anything wrong...she was going the maximum speed limit, except maybe using the phone...thats illegal here in Ohio too (any electronic HAND HELD device). She was in the lane she wanted to turn left ahead. Why wouldnt you give the flatbed truck a ticket that was on her right ? He was obviously blocking her from getting into a lane she didnt want in anyway. He surely kept the speeding pickup guy slowed down too by not letting her in to get out of his way....

Did you see the sidewalk and driveways on the right side of the road? It's not a limited access highway. It's a 4 lane boulevard. At the end she's stopped in a left turn lane.

First I wasn't talking about this person just a general observation of the traffic flow in Tampa. I avoid it as best I can.
But I would have just moved over.

Hey were you not the guy pushing people out of the way with his bumper nothing to see here.

Yes....because she said she was going to turn left.... I assume she stopped to avoid getting hit by other cars while waiting to turn.

I guess that I am just a magnet for this kind of crap- I just had a woman call me an 'arrogant moron'.
Why? She stopped in the middle of an intersection at a green light and I blew the horn at her. She rolls down her window and yells something at me. I catch up a bit later and ask her if there is something she would like to say and she mumbles that she does not appreciate me blowing the horn at her.
I tell her that I don't appreciate her stopping in the middle of an intersection for no reason.
Then she yells that she is not from around here and was lost.
Oh, that changes things...So, I tell her, "Along life's journey, if you loose your way, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!"
Then she called me an arrogant moron. I guess that I deserved it
I don't know if my dash cam caught it or not because it has been flaking out lately

I don't get what the hoodie guy was upset about. The guy that he was after could have been upset by the Toyota driver stopping in front of him for no apparent reason, but he didn't seem to be escalating it.

Hoodies apparently give you the right to do anything you want. I dont know why the white truck stopped either, maybe looking for someplace. Everything looked normal to me until the hoodie guy passed him and almost ran up the divider. Going back and bringing a pipe with him was a bad idea. The guy with the gun showed more control than I would. Hes got a camera showing the guy coming after him with the pipe after he already started a fight. Bad karma would have been funnier if some truck had come along and rear ended and totalled his car while he was fighting, lol. Nice find.
