not for the "squeamish" or those where violence offends them

This is a compilation taken from (in my opinion) the greatest Fighting league ever in the history of martial arts "Pride Fighting Championship" (1997-2007) . Owned by they Yakuza (no lie), It was centered in huge interior baseball arenas in Japan (broke attendance records) and the two basic rules were no head butting , no groin shots (and no elbows for some strange reason, i guess to avoid cheap cuts and fight stoppages). It was very corrupt yet entertaining as hell. They sold the franchise name and all fighter contracts to UFC for a profit in 2007 then the Yakuza just started from scratch and kept making more money with new federations, unfortunately this style of fighting is outlawed in Japan now and has been in the USA since like UFC's 1995 pay per views. This in my opinion is as close as it gets to a street fight, no more kicking or kneeing downed opponents in any Martial Arts league around the world currently, at least not at the top talent they had in PRIDE. Two weight classes, above 200, below 200. YUP real man stuff

LONG LIVE PRIDE

I always like watching Cro Cop fight, nothing like seeing those tree like legs come up and drop some one.

5:42; Mark Hunt is one of the only few to stand back up

1:45; Favorite Cro Cop moment.

OH MAN!! "CroCop" was THE MAN a real Croatian Special Forces officer , he started just stand up kickboxing in K1 (japan league) and made the transition into "free for all" or mixed martial art fighting when Pride was offering more $$$ per fight. He did nothing but amaze me as he has fought about every current MMA legend (and beat most or at least half of them).

My favorite was the WWF-like (but very real) feud between Vanderlei Silva and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Literally the best KO i have ever seen in my life in a sporting event when he left Jackon lifeless on the bottom rope. You know its bad when after a fight you ask your coach "what was it that knocked me out? a knee?" , wheras Silva can recount the fight hit for hit.
