Moose attracts crowd after wandering into man's backyard Apr 25th 2014 5:13PM 6258 When Lloyd Readman of Orillia, Canada, looked out his window, he didn't expect to see a 600-lb. moose -- along with a slew of spectators taking photos of it. But that he did.
Though quite a sight, it could have also been quite the threat -- as moose can be extremely aggressive.
Luckily, the moose was extremely calm and didn't move much throughout the ordeal.
Nonetheless, her presence was the cause of two nearby schools going on lockdown -- just as a precaution.
Wildlife experts sectioned off the area to keep everyone safe and eventually tranquilized the moose and set it free back into the wild.
Allegedly, Readman's visitor is doing great after being released into the wild. The Ministry of Natural Resources sent CTV a photo of the freed moose -- no backyards included.
Orillia is about 1/3rd of the way as north as you can get here without getting into the arctic. Niel and Dave and Purple can tell ya about the place.
NO, we dont chase Moose down in snowmobiles and try to control nature (sorry Miane morons )....but go into lockdown for schools over a Moose ????.......HEY STUPID, LEAVE HIM ALONE AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME COURTESY.....what-the-frack would ya do over an angry racoon or a bear ??? (both normal backyard visitors some places) Never mind a coyote or wolf or wild dog........ or a poodle getting loose...
Oh, I know, I know, I know what to do....call the police
so some 20-something with a gun, car, badge, and radio can get his car trampled for fracking with 2-000 pound something the locals know to leave alone (and I have had moose 10 feet off my canoe, they are NOT agressie animals, in the slightest. A Mosse cow and a cattle cows are very much the same----they are going for a walk)
Now an anggry Racoon on the streets of Orillia is a different thing. Never mind lock-down, SHOOT that thing.....

No Maineiac's know better, those were NH tourists
I still say if when its deer season we can shoot the deer, And when its bear season we can shoot the bear, How come when its tourist we can't shoot the tourists?

That snowmobiling New Hampshire couple who posted a YouTube video of themselves following a moose may face a misdemeanor charge for harassing wildlife, the Portland Press Herald reports. (I suspect the moose will have a court-appointed lawyer - seems it couldn't be located for comment prior to press time...)
