I had plan to fly to Ukraine & take part in the Odessa rally ,I was to leave the day of the big storm in the southeast & maily florida my jetblue flight was delay 5 hours ,I knew I might not make my flight ukraine international 232 but flew to New york , missed it by 15 minutes would have made it but a lady decide she did not want to take off in such bad weather & we had a futher delay. My 2 friends,1 navy seal & 1 special forces(old men) were on the plane & made the Odessa rally ,,it is one reason the armed attacking russian special forces & russian speaker ran into a firestorm of Ukraine speakers able to protect themself against men armed with bats, clubs ,iron bars, prepared 2x4, when the momentum went against the russians they pulled our pistols & started shooting killing & wounding the unarmed Ukraine men,tho a few had clubs, they were join by more Ukrainians & a few russian speakers who drove the russians spetsnaz & militia away ,, the russians took refuge & to my great happiness & joy I heard 30 were killed in a fire,, this is the first time the KGB Putin invading russian monsters have been repelled they have hurt wounded & maim hundreds of men & some women in one instance the russians ran over babies in baby carriage these russian men are so deserving of a fiery painful death ,injury & suffering, ,,to burning hell with them!! I think that at this point it's very difficult, if not impossible, to tell who the "good guys" and the "bad guys" are in the Ukraine. Seems like a lot of misinformation all around.
What I think it's safe to say is that Putin is playing a covert and dangerous game and he's hugely popular at home thanks to it. Nationalism is rearing its ugly head... it's very troubling to me.

I would doubt those "accurate" reports if I were you because the detained observers were from OSCE, not NATO, as you can easily find out by watching the news.

Personally, I strongly dislike Mr. Putin and his regime and the apparent nationalism that's seems to be gripping Russia recently. I think it's very dangerous. My world is just not strictly black and white as yours seems to be. I think that there may not be any "good" options for the "West" in the current Ukrainian conflict.
