Legendary DJ Casey Kasem is missing and a Los Angeles Superior Court judge wants to know where he is.
The 82-year-old "Top 40" host and radio personality is suffering from advanced Parkinson's disease and can no longer speak — and his children told a judge on Monday that they don't know where he is being treated.
During a hearing on Monday, Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered a court investigator to find out where Kasem is, after hearing conflicting information that Kasem is either at an Indian reservation in Washington or is out of the country, a court spokeswoman told NBC News.
Casey Kasem's children have complained for months that they have been prohibited from seeing their father. Kasem's daugher, Kerri Kasem, was appointed her father's temporary caretaker during the hearing, after her lawyer told the judge the family believes Kasem is being treated in Washington state.
But Craig Marcus, who is Kasem's wife's lawyer, confused the situation even more by saying he is not sure where Kasem is, but he has "been removed from the country." Marcus said that Jean Kasem, who has been married to the radio icon for over 30 years, had every right to move her husband as she saw fit.
In addition to assigning the investigator, Murphy appointed a doctor to look into Casey Kasem's care.
WOW, that brings back memories....... I used to listen to him, on my Ghetto Blaster, strapped to the handle bars of my BMX Bike while riding around town. That was nearly 30 years ago.

Radio icon Casey Kasem was hospitalized in Washington on Sunday after a dramatic scene unfolded outside the home where he has been staying — a situation which culminated with his wife throwing a pound of hamburger meat at his eldest daughter from his first marriage.
One of the local stations plays repeats of the Top 40 Countdown from the 80's every Sunday. Hearing the music and his iconic voice brings back memories of my misspent youth. Rest in peace while we remember to "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars..."
IHeartRadio has been having a tribute to CK all morning. They're just about done with the top 40 of '85 now (it was Wham's Careless Whisper). I imagine they'll finish off the '80s this afternoon. Nice to hear his voice again.
