.....and the thermometer on my back porch says 104o
I guess I ought to go mow the lawn before it gets hot.

Why bother, give it an hour and it should spontaneously combust.

13% humidity...it IS a dry heat. It was 85* with 55% humidity here today and I was sweatiing through my shorts. I'd have taken 104/13 over that any time.

When I was on vacation in Arizona a few years ago, I was surprised when someone commented that it was almost 100 degrees outside. It felt like maybe low 90s. But then again, I'm used to the high humidity here in Florida... where you step outside at 10 AM and are instantly covered in sweat.

Honestly, I grew up in Florida and I would rather be in 110o here than 90o there. Now, in July and August we will have plenty of days with temps between 110 and 118 with humidity up around 30-40%, but if you can grit your teeth and bare through those two months, the rest of the year is just beautiful.
My patio thermometer hit 113 today, but I think I might have it in a bad spot, like outside.

You might have an idea there.

You don't sweat much ( for a fat girl, for those of you who don't know the punch line. No impolite comment or suggestion about Blacktree is intended. ) Once humidity gets to 70%, it does not matter what the time is to me; instant bath.

post time says 2:31 pm.

Hasn't been terribly hot here, (yet) but humidity has been terrible. Lots of rain and morning fog here in the river bottom hasn't been burning off till 10-11 am.

Heat and cold are relative I suppose. I spent 6 months in the Chicago area years ago, (Oct-April) and didn't find it nearly as miserable as the winters in other places much further south. Extreme Western Oklahoma was probably the most inhospitable place I ever worked in winter.

I've been to the 29 Palms Marine Training Grounds in Calif's southern Mohave desert and other than being in the heavy gear, I didn't find it as hot and intolerable as Memphis Tenn.

Here, it is currently 71F, mostly clear skies, and
Pressure 29.95 in
Visibility 3.0 miles
Clouds Scattered Clouds 300 ft
Dew Point 71 °F
Humidity 99%

It won't be much better tomorrow..

I was going to say, you need to move the thermometer to a better location. The kitchen is probably a good spot. Hawaii would probably be better.
