need something I can mount to my jetski, so def needs to be 100% waterproof, and needs to have marine maps / waypoints, my ski is way too small for a "non-handheld" unit, anyone have a recommendation? I was looking at the garmin eTrex 20, but wanted to hear some opinions first.

Garmin 76 series? You can get a Gilsson cover that will add protection. I use a 76CSx for hiking because I cross a lot of steams and if anyone can drop a GPS into water - it's me.

I believe the 76Cx is still in production but you can find the C, CS and CSx cheap on Craigslist and eBay. The CS has more internal memory than the C (and some other minor features) and the CSx has an SD slot so you can have tons of maps load. This is nice if you visit a lot of different waterways and want to load both the street and topo/waterway maps at the same time. They also support an external antenna.

I used a Garmin etrex Legend on my hover for nav and speed, mostly as a speedo. Also used for hiking trips. Got it wet often. It never skipped a beat and works well today. Old tech I suppose now being something like 14 years old. My only reason to replace it would be for a lager screen.
