Run by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, the collectible coin retailer/auctioneer, the ATM (currency exchange vending machine?) allows you to insert your debit card and buy gold bars in 1 oz ($1,327), 10g ($490), or 5g ($255) on the spot, along with several gold and silver coins. Prices are updated every 60 seconds based on the market.
Thoughts? It seems like something neat to try, and as radio commercials tell me, gold will only ever go up in value! I wonder what their cut is vs current market values. No word on whether they would buy back gold, though.
That's the ATM I use every morning, I get a 5 gram bar and spend it at Starbucks on 58th.One Grande Kerroinka, (cat poop coffee-mmmm taste the feces!)and I'm all set for the day.
We have a gold dispenser at the terminal, well I thought they were just Dollar coins, until I was at a truck stop and paid with 6 dollar coins, the ladies behind the counter freaked out, and were yelling that they had gold to each other. Not kidding.
Me: "Here's six dollars, keep the change." (I wasn't being nice really, it was a penny back.)
"OMG LUCENDIA*, THIS GUY JUST PAID ME IN GOLD GURL!!!"
"Oh No he didn't......(Looks at coins in cashiers hand) OMG HE DID, YOU GOT GOLD, YOU GOT GOLD!"
I turned and was already heading to the door when Lucendia* was freaking out, to tired to care, and seriously worried about our future. This was the West Memphis Pilot btw, completely true, and I only wish it was made up.

*I never saw Lucendia's nametag, and am probably spelling it wrong. Pronounced: Lucy end ee uh
I dont know if id call it an ATM, as it's more of a vending machine. You insert 'cash' you get 'stuff' out the slot. Not much different than one of those machines where you can buy worms or cell phones.
If we had one around here, I'd totally buy silver and gold from it, probably a monthly basis. Silver is back under $20 and I think it will likely go into the $30s again

Over the long haul it will only go up. And in theory, no matter what happens to governments it will still be of value.
Tho we can now transmute base metals into gold, it will never ( never? ) be as cheap as mining it.
