I sure hope it's better then 2, that movie sucked hard.
You expected it to be a real movie with a plot that moves, character development, and so on, like, say, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, or The Patriot. These are parodies which aren't funny, a satirical take on hero movies which were laughable to begin with. ( satire on satire; can you do that? I have to give that lots of thought. ) Lower your expectations to the lowest level where you can be entertained by a movie and you will be satisified.
The first one wasn't even good. It is fun for about 30 minutes to see them all together then I just want it to end. I never saw the second and definitely will never see the third.

Oh I don't disagree, and no, I'm definitely not seeking cinematic excellence, just entertainment. The first was decent enough that I can still watch it once in a while. But the second was too much. Too many campy 80's cliche's and one-liners that just aren't funny when forced into a different container. it just tried too hard. and was just painful to watch. I tolerated the second one in the theater but no attempt to see it a second time. I'll go to see the third in hopes that it will at *least* be on par with the first one which was palatable, unlike the second one.
Movies are made to give us a few moments away from reality, if you like the subject and can enjoy it why try to pick it apart like a critic? never seen any of them myself as those types of movies I am unable to watch when everyone is in the room, in other words I would have to go see them at the movies by myself and that ain't happening.
You didn't like it fine, obviously some people did enough to go see it and the others in the trilogy.
Its a fkn movie, not real life or reality.

Full disclosure neither 1 or 2 were picks for me to go see in a theater.
But for a lazy weekend night, or even a summer nothing new on TV night they were fun enough. Although some scenes make you wonder if you should laugh or groan at watching an aging Stallone "run/shamble/limp" into, away from the action.
Considering some of the other drek out there, it's not hate worthy, and I never expected it to be Oscar worthy
$11.00 per ticket at the theater --- zero chance. $5.99 two day rental on PPV in a couple of months -- slim to non $1.50 blue ray at Red Box in a couple of months -- outside chance
When did a different opinion become hate? No one expressed any hate here; just the opinion that, even knowing that these movies aren't serious they still aren't worth watching. BTW, criticism is the act of evaluation, not tearing down.

Sorry going to disagree with the haters/critics. ... Considering some of the other drek out there, it's not hate worthy, and I never expected it to be Oscar worthy
Don't get me wrong, man... I get the point of them, and to some they serve the purpose well. I just can't do it. No hate here.
I laughed at first, but then it occurred to me that with time he moving farther away from the geeky/effeminate/fastidious stereotype of "Frasier" and is getting more into at least "guy" roles if not action roles. I don't think he's necessarily an action figure in this movie, but he did play "Beast" in X Men. I think that helped him break the mold a bit. That was a good transitional character for him, intellectual but still a badass mutant, even if he didn't fight a lot.

In a few months, free from the library and will be right on it, and I bet it will be fun.
Frankly, I'm surprised by all the negative opinions about these movies. I guess if a money isn't up to "The King's Speech" level it's not worth anyone's time anymore.
Action movies used to be THE thing, and they still are for me. Plus I've always been a Stallone fan.
