I know this may be a more cryptic type post. I am having some issues that arouse. I am in need of a lawyer. I do not know the best way to sort out this search. I am needing of a lawyer in a specific field. I am in the Ohio area. I do not know how to search out a lawyer in any sense and this post is very cryptic cause i need to me very careful in what I say. p.s I am not at fault or in any trouble myself its preemptive planning.
Whatever you do, don't go with your aunts cousin because he just set up his own practice and will give you a good price since it's "extended family"... Don't ask me how I know not to do this.
Pokey. No clue what your implying. Theres no monetary reason here. This is a clerical error by someone that if not handled right can cause longtime issues. Lawyer is needed to review files.
Should be a legal referral service in your area that sorts them out by field of practice.
We have a friend who is a lawyer and semi retired who does that legal referral thing, believe me all he does is Google lawyers in your area and picks the one with the Jewish name.
He is Jewish, don't get me wrong he has pointed me in the right direction on an occasion but he is not who you want to trust to pick a lawyer for you in any specific case. Ask local friends and family who they have used and how they feel they did for them and if they would recommend them in your particular case. Getting a lawyer can get tricky when it comes to something's, others not so much, just depends.
Good luck no matter what it is.

Try the Parma Bar Association. half hour consultation is usualley free, they can allso direct you to the correct attorney. http://www.parmabarassociation.org/ If this is a simple divorce, a Paraleagal can cut out the middle man (found on Craigslist, search Paralegal).Paralegals are not attorneys and can't answer any legal questions, so basically they handle the paper work, as long as you know what your doing.

Do some homework. Go to your local courthouse and look through the files to see which attorney has won the more cases. Narrow it down by civil or criminal. Fortunately, you're near a big city so that helps. Once you've figured out which lawyer has won the most cases in whatever area you need one, give them a call and ask about cost. If it's something relatively simple, they can probably give you a pretty good estimate. If it's more complicated, the best they can reasonably do is give you an hourly rate.
You can also prevent a rival from acquiring the local lawyers by paying their retainer fees as this makes them your lawyer. This is a tactic in divorce cases.
I guess what I can say is its not a civil matter. I have to challenge a bank. With out giving any names. I was refinancing my house earlier this year. Refinance had suddenly slowed and the lender got hard to reach. Friday they finally said there's an issue there trying to resolve and cant give info. They gave me the title companies name and said they may be able to give me info. Called them found out some how names got mixed up. Someone else name was on paper work with my property address and that person was in foreclosure. My house address but not I was marked in foreclosure. There trying to stratin it out and bury it. The title company was more than happy to give as much as they could to get out of the picture since this mix up was with my lender. According to them I "have nothing to worry about"
You need an expert in Real Estate Law. A divorce attorney, or traffic court, or criminal attorney won't be much help here. As others have said, check the local bar association (God, I love that name!).
There is such a thing as a "good lawyer." A lawyer is just a tool to get your job done. And like any other tool, you don't want to buy a cheap one for heavy, or critical work. Call several realtors in the area and ask who they'd use. If more than two point to the same guy or gal, use them.
