That's $2.8 Billion in unfrozen assets, in addition to previously returned $4.2 Billion.

quote
The United States will give Iran access to another $2.8 billion over the next several months and appears to have conceded to Iran’s demand that it be permitted to domestically enrich uranium, the key component in a nuclear weapon, according to senior Obama administration officials.

In exchange for agreeing over the weekend to extend nuclear talks until late November, Iran will be given another $2.8 billion in unfrozen assets, the White House told reporters over the weekend, after President Barack Obama decided to extend the talks past their July 20 deadline.

The United States already returned to Iran $4.2 billion in unfrozen oil assets during the past six months of the interim nuclear deal and has now agreed to provide another $2.8 billion in exchange for an extension in the negotiations.

White House officials also appeared to admit that U.S. negotiators have told Tehran that they will allow it to preserve some of its domestic enrichment capabilities, something that Congress has opposed.
...
Additionally, U.S. negotiators appear to have accepted Iranian demands that it be permitted to carry on a domestic nuclear enrichment program, according to the officials. Disagreements remain around the extent of this enrichment.

Obama was raised as a Muslim so he supports the Muslim objectives, even as he denies that closet support. Obama needs to be removed from office, but we'd get Biden as president? OMG

You expect people to understand that when so many don't even realize a tax refund is their own money?

I guess I worded that badly. Even though the money was owed to them already, combining the two things together may give them the impression that we've decided to subsidize their nuclear program.

They were frozen assets from sanctions to force them to end their nuclear program. So they're getting access to more of the assets back and can continue uranium enrichment.
True, the money isn't coming from the US. It's lifting part of the sanctions while allowing them to continue what the sanctions were put in place to prevent.

but either way - you are intentionally being misleading

"US to Give Iran Another $2.8Billion, Allow Uranium Enrichment" is a lie.

At least you're attacking me. That means you didn't find fault with the article.
Whatever it takes to give you something to complain about.

did some looking into what this is actually about
and guess what?
this is much more than a intentionally misleading topic topic title.

this is what Korea, Vietnam, Iraq & Afghanistan are NOT.
It is a actual WIN for the USA and its allies

Iran capitulated. it gave up on the enrichment for weapons grade uranium, and degraded its existing supply.

no wonder the TeaTards had to try and spin this so badly. this is a big win for USA
cant have that on Obamas watch. all the things that (R) leaders cant do....Osama Bin Laden...Iran....
done. easily. quietly. without blowhard bluster.

shows what the real priorities are for the TeaTards. Bluster & Showmanship. NOT results.

and, next is the conservative Putin and his conservative Ukrainian separatists....

My thoughts exactly.

The tax dollars we US Citizens contribute should benefit OUR veterans (first and especially), OUR jobless (unless you're just to lazy to get a job), OUR homeless (see previous note) - in any case, OUR citizens.

Every time the US Government sends money to another country while failing to take care of matters RIGHT HERE first, it disgusts me more than I know how to express.

Those were frozen assets of Iran that were released. It's not like the U.S. just gave a big wad of cash to Iran on the back of U.S. taxpayers.

Of course, the U.S. could have confiscated those Iranian assets and rolled them into the federal coffers for unrestricted use.

But I think that would, as a practical matter, require that the U.S. declare war on Iran, or something fairly close to that.

Don't jump the gun. That war hasn't started yet. The U.S. doesn't have a good enough reason--a reason that will stand up to widespread public scrutiny and deliberation.

Not yet.

Correct. That's why it's the first line in my post after the link to the article.
