Done and Done in both threads and already voted twice.
I don't know though I am torn, the Corvair was, well the Corvair and it was on one of Nader's hit lists for it being something he felt was unsafe, besides I had a girlfriend who had a convertible one and I really loved her but hated the car, but it was easier to get laid in than the Fiero. I don't know but I guess seeing I already voted for the Fiero I should just let it stand, or can I vote again and change my mind.
Besides I do have the Fiero model in question and it has never left me stranded, YET. Oh ya by the way you can vote repeatedly.

Voted. Who the hell would vote Corvair over Fiero?!?! Especially with the category 'cult cars' there are few other cars with a more dedicated following.

I'd actually say the number of Corvair enthusiasts out there would easily rival ours, especially around here. The local club hosts the Orphan Auto Picnic annually, and the Corvair section always gets a decent turnout. I thought about buying one about a year ago and still wouldn't mind having one.
Still - the Fiero gets my vote by-default...

Hagerty article says, "to see the results check the next episode". Any idea when that might come out? Someone be sure to link that here if they get a sec when results are released please?

If I saw it on the internet so it must be true, . Seriously ? Are you all dupes ? They are playing you for rubes. What they are doing is padding their visitor list so they can get more advertising dollars. Do you feels good about yourself after you wasted your time voting in a meaningless "election" of choice/opinion ?

Let me guess ... you will like the Fiero less if the Corvair wins ? Oh look, a shiny ball. How easily we are distracted from everyday real life. I don't care if the Fiero loses to the Corvair. I am positive I will get respect from a Corvaior owner, as will he get my respect.

Naw. I will still love my Fiero, and my wife's as a matter of fact, the same. Note screen name... I gotta go to everyday life (work). Have a great day!

You've not known many Corvair owners, then. The following is very similar. Fiero enthusiasts are now where the Corvair was 20 years ago. Before the internet, it was common for CORSA members to carry membership rosters in their glove compartment when travelling. If you ran into any problems, just look up the member closest to you and you'd be sure to get help.
I voted for the Corvair. I'm not voting for a 2.4L Fiero.

Meaningless? hell, defending the honor and virtue of the Fiero is one of the most noble crusades one can undertake!

I voted for the Fiero, but I did own a Corvair convertable w/ 110 hp engine w/ 140 hp dual exhaust. Sounded great.
Two interesting cars to compare. Both drive very different, my corvair had the 2 speed powerglide auto. I enjoyed driving it as a cruiser. Would not say it was a sports car.

Yes, actually. It's a was a nice break from the impending days stress involved in the construction of an $18M Marriott hotel while I have my coffee. So yes I do feel good about the few seconds I was thinking of something else. TY for asking. Now the true irony is and I ask this with all due respect. If any is due.
Do you feels good about yourself after you wasted your time bitching about people wasting their time voting in ... Ah hell nevermind.
Who cares I voted and I had "FUN". I sincerely hope you did to and I hope you had/have a great day! Now go out there and make some friends! And turn that frown upside down Mister!

The V8 conversions are cool, but the packaging is horrible. The engine comes so far forward you have to move the seats up and you're cramped up into the steering wheel. At least a Fiero V8 keeps the full interior space.
When I was about 10 my father made me go see a Corvair that was involved in a single car accident that killed 3 high school students. The car hit an interstate bridge support pillar. The road was filled with potholes and the young driver lost control after running through the area at high speed on his way home from school. I will never forget the mangled metal that once was a car. You can guess how I feel about Corvairs.

Then undertake it with gusto. Man up and take a Corvair out with a pit maneuver, . Or run 'em into a guardrail, aka Tony Stewart their azz.

Touche'. Well played. Bravo ! You missed your true calling. You should be a head shrink. Perhaps mine has gotten a little big (is that a double negative ? here is the grammar police when I need them ?).

Very nice. I like. I have almost bought a Corvair on a couple of different occasions. I even semi educated myself on them. I couldn't find a good Spyder and knew I would never complete a restore. One store in an upscale shopping mall had one as a sales prop/display on a permanent basis. Corvair also made a truck/PU ...

Not many cars will fare well against a bridge abutment at interstate speeds. I've seen 2nd gen Trans Ams that hit a tree at speed and the steering wheel was pushed into the back seat. You can imagine what that did to the driver.
Check out YouTube for some crash tests of cars from the 50's and 60's. Even the big boats that survive relatively in tact will kill you because YOU absorb the impact rather than the car.

And a van ...
My father had a Greenbrier in that same color combo, back in the sixties. We lost a fan belt somewhere in the middle of nowhere, South Dakota, on a trip from Orlando to Bismark. We had to unload all of our luggage to get to the engine, then he hitch hiked to town to get the part.

Right, you *want* the car to be a mangled mess afterward.. Just as long as it doesn't crush you in the process that is.

Meh ... bad mouthing the Corvair ? I had a flat on my 87 GT and put the doughnut on. I was about to be on my way when I discovered that there is nowhere to put the full sized flat tire. Now I know why notchies have luggage racks, . I had to let mine ride on a nice paint job, tied to my spoiler, .

Supposed to fit in the rear trunk... I wouldn't know however - anything more than a ride around the block I put a big tool box back there!
Now, I will admit thats its NOT a Ford "A" the way Bernie Pietenpol originally designed his airplane, but its not a bad option. Sure beats the hell out of a VP (that thing glides like a manhole cover. Look down, thats where you are going.)

140HP out of 2.7L, normally aspirated with 4 carbs and no electronics. Not bad for 20 years before the Fiero. Granted it was Gross HP, not Net, but that's still pretty impressive for such a small engine (both in displacement and physical size).
Fiero and bridge abutment. And the driver walked away to buy another Fiero.
It's amazing how much safety can be engineered over 20 years. Any idea how fast he was going? The earlier comment mentioned traveling at "high speed" on the interstate but didn't say how fast.

WOW, this picture is scary... I cant believe he walked away from this without air bags... It looks like it could have been fatal even in a modern day car! A+ engineering right here; gotta love it.
In factory form I think the Fiero is more desirable but with various mods especially around the Corvair suspension (and later models) I would probably go with the Corvair. It's a tough choice. A roommate had a turbo Corvair and it was certainly a blast to drive ("Fill 'er up with oil and check the gas.") He replaced it with a Vega Cosworth (another fun car.) Both had their "issues."
