There are also five times the number of people in the US and more cities for people to be concentrated in. Just an observation, but it would seem that the more concentrated the population of an area is, the bigger the risk you have for crime and violence.

Why are you only concentrating on firearm murders ?

What people don't understand other countries have not ever had the number of firearms that the USA has had. Than they banned, registered and confiscated them because it is not in their founding of their countries. I don't care which country you pick none are as free as the USA in what you may own, where you can go and do. And when you even free up what firearm you can carry crime does go down. Just look at this from a city that never would let you even have a firearm legally Chicago.

Your comparison also does not compare apples to apples. A per capita number would be a better guage, as well as a ratio of the number of guns available to the number of murders. It would also help to have a ratio of other type murders per capita, to see if there is any correlation.

And of those 58 murders 53 were done by American tourists !

It's common knowledge, to some, that people who have their head hacked off with a meat cleaver are much less dead than those murdered with a firearm.

In 2011/12 there were 44 firearm murders in the UK.
BTW, that represents 6% of the total 640 murders committed.

So 596 people got to die while claiming the moral highground.

I didn't see anything resembling a personal insult until maybe after you posted the above. Sarcasm? You were maybe expecting something else from this forum? If what I saw is enough for you to take your ball and go home, you need to suck it up buttercup and go see your dermatologist and ask for a thickening agent. If you post something like you did on a forum like this, what were you expecting? For everyone to rally to your support? Or did you just want to stir it up and got caught off guard when you didn't "own" everyone with your obvious display of superior intelligence?
