BREAKING NEWS: Four Marines were reportedly killed Thursday at a Chattanooga, Tenn., Navy training center, in one of two attacks at area military facilities that happened nearly simultaneously and just seven miles apart.
The Marines were killed by a gunman who opened fire at a Naval Reserves Operations Center on Amnicola Highway, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Marilyn Hutcheson, who works at Binswanger Glass just across the street from the Naval Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway, said she heard a barrage of gunfire around 11 a.m.
"It was rapid fire, like pow pow pow pow pow, so quickly"
- Marilyn Hutcheson, a witness "I couldn't even begin to tell you how many," she said. "It was rapid fire, like pow pow pow pow pow, so quickly. The next thing I knew, there were police cars coming from every direction."
The names of the Marines who were reportedly shot were not immediately released, and government officials did not confirm the report. Although Marines spokesman Maj. Paul Greenberg, said "we cannot confirm any casualties at this time," Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam confirmed that "lives have been lost.
The Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center lies along a bend in the Tennessee River, northeast of downtown Chattanooga. President Obama wa briefed by his national security team on the shooting involving two military sites, according to White House spokesman Eric Schultz.
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing at least four Marines and wounding a soldier and a police officer, officials said. The suspect also was killed.
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke said five people died in all, including the gunman.
U.S. Attorney Bill Killian said officials were treating the attacks as an "act of domestic terrorism," though FBI Special Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold said authorities were still investigating a motive.
Looks like one of Rinselberg's scumbag muslim friends was behind this. Shooter has been identified as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. Sounds about American as Barrack Hussein Obama .
Thoughts going out to slain marine's families.

United States Attorney Bill Killian said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation would take the lead on the case, which he initially called an “act of domestic terrorism” before backing away, saying that the investigation would determine how the crime should be labeled.

That mosque was in Phoenix (Arizona). The Garland duo were known to have come to that mosque for a time, but they had not been seen there for some time prior to what happened in Garland (Texas).
Seems like a low probability bet, considering that the shooter in this Chattanooga (Tennessee) episode is known to have been a local Chattanooga area resident.
Arizona, Texas and Tennessee are spelled out here for the benefit of any non-U.S. "forum-izers".

News says: Born in Kuwait but spent most of his life here--graduated from a Tenn high school, then graduated from U of T at Chattanooga with a BS degree in electrical engineering and worked at TVA as a student intern. FBI says he was not on their watch list. I guess we can be thankful he didn't use his US college elect engineering education to build bombs.

I'll go out on a limb here and guess that Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was a Muslim inspired to make a lone wolf attack by ISIS. Should that prove out to be true, that would mean we've had someone who reveres the Islamic flag commit a mass killing, so now we can ban all Islamic symbols from the nation.
I find this symbol of hatred, violence and murder offensive and demand any symbols remotely similar to it be remove from the US.
I'm sure all the flag attacking Liberals will rally to this new cause as well.

Would Adolf Hitler be ok ? 'Ya know, ... there has always been a trend in the naming of children. If I am not mistaken, "Mohamed" is the number one name in England. Maybe France. Both ?

Oh You Owe me a keyboard, Beer, my one of 3 beers a week I am prescribed and I just spit an entire mouthful all over my keyboard.
I haven't heard anyone say that in month, on here at least, maybe years.
That said I am glad the little fkr who did this is dead, no mater if he did it or the cops did, one less multimillion dollar trial and incarceration it would cost us.

I made up my mind after the Boston bombing, but at this point it is beyond comprehension that anyone could deny that islam is anything other than a murderous cult.
I understand that most muslims will never kill or maim, just as most fire extinguishers will never put out a fire, yet that is their sole reason for existence.

You will also have to convince the shooter's sister:
quote
Yasmeen, who drew attention at Red Bank High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for proudly wearing a traditional Muslim headscarf in class and on the volleyball court.
Yasmeen told the Chattanooga Free Press in 2010 that some students harassed her but that she wasn’t afraid to confront people about their attitudes toward her religious beliefs. “I’m not afraid to go straight toward them and ask them, ‘Do you really know what Islam is?’ ” she said. “There’s this misconception that Islam is a violent religion. Muslims are actually peaceful.”
I have a deep and abiding respect for most religions and those who honestly adhere to their teachings, and I tried really hard, for a very long time to include islam and it's followers in that group, but there came a time when I could no longer ignore the consistent and overwhelming evidence.
Whenever someone of any religious faith starts spouting off about how good their god is, no mater what their god is I turn off anything they say as being BS and just walk away. I Found that anyone who does nothing but try to convert you or talks of nothing but their god all the time has a screw lose most times, that was obviously this guys problem.
Anyone who just talks about nothing but their god scares me, no matter what their religion is, because lets face it there are religious extremists of all faiths. Look at the kid who just killed all those people in the church just recently, now he was an extremist and even a racist to boot. But then aren't all those religious extremist all racists as well? If you don't bow down to their god then you are not worth the crap on the bottom of their shoes.
When ever I see anyone pulling the religious card anywhere in public for all to see, like those who just scream out load in the middle of a grocery store or anywhere else public the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I go on alert for anything to happen next.
My favorites are the ones who yell out for all to hear,
"I've Been Saved!"
then there are the snake worshipers, or the ones who think they are god. I have nothing against anyone who believes in any god, as long as they don't pull that you must be saved for your own good on me line I just walk away from them with my head on a swivel, because you never know what someone like that will do.
It sure would, I guess. Except for the bad rap it got from that one guy, it's a perfectly good Austrian name... or do they have to be English sounding, in your opinion?

Yes. Who would name their kid Millard, Ulysses, Rutherford, Woodrow, Lyndon or Grover today? Not too many people...

Now that was a stupid comment. What names are "American" enough, in your opinion?
No, this is not stupid! Enough. Loafer is an extremist in his own right, but he has a valid point. Much like you believe that his comment is "stupid", I believe your "internet car forum " gun debate is even worse. You are destroying/grinding against American values. We have an issue with race here. The black race is currently 200 times greater at committing crimes. Quite the valid reason to discuss.
Muhamed is not an American name. We understand this, but must remain tolerant. Don't want to upset our government.
When my father's family first arrived here at the end of the civil war, the two brothers were name Herman and Adolf. My mother''s family included names like Clora and Hambone.

What about Milhous?

CBSN just mentioned that although the shooter was not on a watch list his father had been and was taken off. The father works for the city of Chattanooga.

Yes, a reason to discuss, absolutely.
But not a reason to judge people per se because they are black or have a name that you've pronounced un-American. An "English sounding" name has been "American" for, what, a few hundred years? What would you think about President Abeytu (Omaha), Gaagii (Navajo), Pannoowau (Algonquian), Tahmelapachme (Cheyenne) or Wanageeska (Sioux)? Not "American" enough?
