That seems to be the usual story around here. Mine failed after about 8 years of service which is average for the Torque Master from what I've read. Nearly all newer houses in this area have that type, yet it is hard to find a company that will repair one.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a bad experience with the Torque Master system repairs or was the repairman just blowing smoke? |

This must be the week for garage door problems, I just posted about replacing cables on my Wayne Dalton door. Its been my experience that repair people tend to criticize things that they either don't know how to work on or they don't sell. I think there's a good chance that the torque tube was over tightened on your door when it was put in. I installed my Wayne Dalton door with the torque tube myself, it is not difficult. I see replacement torsion tube springs on Amazon for $49 and you tube tutorials on how to replace them. The torsion tube system is much more do it yourself friendly than the exposed spring system, that may be why the repair people do not like them.
