HI all

I have heard and did a search on the net, if you open a bug bomb in a house or apartment, it can explode if there is a pilot light on. Ok, now, what if you open one in an apartment building?

Thanx all,

Eric J.

forced heat/ ac or you have forced hot water heat or steam..

any central a/c or heat that could bring the fumes to the basement that might have a pilot hot water heater, I'd close off the vents..

if no central heat or a/c the fumes shouldn't go much past your apartment

Hi all

K... Sounds pretty good... Will of course bring this to the Maintenance guys attention, hopefully good by bugs!!!

Would it be wise to wash clothing too? Yes, I know that common sense says yes, but if this is so, then I will have to wait longer so I can plan things...... My work schedule is done in 2 week increments, so 3 weeks ahead depending on which week your working in.....

If I bomb my apartment, will the bugs come back? If so, how long do you think????

Thanx all,

Eric J.

What kind of bugs? Multi unit building? If so do the neighbors also have the same bug problem?

Some bug bombs list on the label that you don't have to turn out the pilot light.
If it doesn't specifically say that, then yes it can explode if you leave the pilot light lit.

The problem with bug bombs in an apartment building is that you bomb your apartment, so they just move to the apartment next door. Once the bomb dissipates, they come right back. It's best when you treat the entire building at once.

Many of today's bug bombs are water based and non-explosive/flammable. Central heat and air systems are closed circuit except in the area they heat/cool so nothing to worry about in the basement. There are no electrical components in the air stream, so no spark danger. Bur within the rooms, a PC, refrigerator, vacuum, light switch or even static electricity might set off an explosion if there's a warning on the lable. If you have a Tractor Supply near you, they sell some really great products that are warerborne and low odor. They also have a 1.5 gallon pump sprayer with wand to apply in most hard to get places.
