You can technically say that they haven't left ....yet. But they were going to go to Mexico.
First it was Ford and now, the infamous Carrier plant in Indiana, well they decided they aren't going to Mexico after all after talking to Trump. 1,000 jobs staying in America.
I even read a story on how Apple is planning to make some of the iPhone's in America.
I have heard a couple of suggestions that American manufacturing companies who moved production offshore are considering the purchase and lease of vacant factories to set up assembly and packaging operations. This would allow them to do final assembly and distribution here.
This could allow them bring back a portion of their operations without the huge retooling cost required to set up a full service manufacturing plant.
And avoid the import charge Trump has said he would put on them...
True. Ive heard he wants to charge as much as 30% of MSRP on stuff made outside of the US by companies based in the US. That would be a huge amount to companies to try and pass on to consumers. Your Ford pickup base price would be $40k. Buyers may chose a Mercedes or BMW instead.

Crazy:
Maybe its even just because Clinton didn't get elected.
Some arm twisting of Carrier's parent company, United Technology, a major defense contractor?
Well, The Donald is a business man, and that is a method of doing business that all business men are aware of, without actually having to say it, out loud...

Yes but that was then, this is now.
He's not a businessman anymore, he's the head of the government.
I think we're in for a bit of the old "when you only have a hammer, all problems look like nails".
This in no way reduces my support for the man. I just hope we don't end up with the same old, same old.
"after talking to Trump" Is there a link that has any details?
Not really--most of these type 'negotiations' are held in private, tho Carrier did confirm they were in talks with Trump/Pence.
Carrier @Carrier Carrier has had discussions with the incoming administration and we look forward to working together. Nothing to announce at this time. 10:34 AM - 24 Nov 2016
"after talking to Trump" Is there a link that has any details?
Not really. For Ford, they stated they had no plans to move the plant in question anyway.
For Carrier, they're receiving like 20+ times the amount they would save by moving their IN plant to MX, in federal R&D funding. Don't think there has been a real statement from them yet either though, and when there is, I don't expect real details.
I think the best bet is to leave our imaginations wide open. This institution is based in making deals. Making deals is who Donald Trump is.
It will be a hard temptation for both parties to deny...
Who benefits from the deal? In Trump's case, it is always him. Will that translate to the citizens? I am skeptical. Also, if you read the story, Trump didn't have anything to do with Ford's decision of where to move production. Trump is just doing what Trump does and he is taking credit for something he had nothing to do with.
IF... IF he had anything do with it... we won't know the extent, because the citizen (taxpayer) just got thrown under the bus.

You really like beating that same drum. I bet there are 1200 folks who would beg to differ with your anti-Trump bias.

Trump's Twitter account. During Thanksgiving, maybe even Thanksgiving Day, Trump tweeted he was speaking with Carrier. The Next day Carrier's Twitter account confirmed it.
Some details from news sources. I will get to them.

Dobey, no the plant was not gonna move. Ford announced plans (because they have shareholders) that much production the plant did would be done in Mexico. That some jobs would remain, for certain vehicles. The rest would be manufactured in Mexico, where they do not get fifteen dollars an hour. Three dollars an hour would be the wage.
Since it is clear from your lack of facts, Ford is still gonna open a plant in Mexico, and rape their US facility here (Kentucky?) of some of the jobs.

What made Ford decide to change their game plan ? Interestingly, Carrier is still gonna move some production to Mexico. After they talked with Trump.
Both of those companies likely were locked into legal agreements, so they likely can't bring all their jobs back.
Trump did have much to do with Ford and Carrier keeping jobs here. Did 'ga hear ? Apple is all of a sudden discussing making the I Phone here in the USA.
Those are details from news sources.

Source please ? Research and Development, . Put up or shut up. How much money would they save by moving their plant to Mexico ? How many R&D dollars are they now all of a sudden receive ?
This announcement does NOT make it sound like the 400 or so employees at Carrier's Huntington, Indiana plant (just miles from where I live) will be keeping their jobs. I know two people who currently work there. But who knows, Carrier could change their mind.
All I know is this is the first time I've seen a president-elect do something for the public good before he was inaugurated. Trump actually tweeted on Thanksgiving Day that he was working with Carrier to try to convince them to keep jobs here in the U.S.. What was Obama doing on Thanksgiving?
How about you stop attacking and actually investigate. You are a broken record. Give us evidence trump did something. So far, no proof, only trumpy claims in twitter.

From the NYTimes article:
quote
Mr. Trump first announced he was talking to Carrier on Thanksgiving Day via Twitter, which the company quickly confirmed. The discussions have continued this week, and with a tentative deal in hand on Tuesday, transition officials scheduled Mr. Trump’s and Mr. Pence’s visit to Indianapolis.
"Whatever deal Trump struck with Carrier does not appear to have salvaged jobs at a separate branch of United Technologies in Huntington, Indiana, that makes microprocessor-based controls for the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration industries. That branch will move manufacturing operations to a new plant in Mexico, costing the city 700 jobs by 2018." http://m.kfvs12.com/kfvs12/...contentguid=EckjYncZ
There is a lot of details not provided and one has to ask "why"... what is trump hiding?
Trump will claim anything, and if one wants to believe him, then THEY need to prove he is correct.
You claimed Trump did nothing. Do you just not want to answer... or cannot? Give us evidence trump did not do something in relation to Carrier and the jobs at issue. Otherwise, it's just more speculation and rhetoric on your part.

Carrier says it got 'incentives' to keep jobs in Indiana:
Carrier didn't specify what the incentives were. Trump threatened Carrier with stiff tariffs during the campaign, but Carrier's statement depicted a friendlier negotiation.
"The incoming Trump-Pence administration has emphasized to us its commitment to support the business community and create an improved, more competitive U.S. business climate," Carrier said.
That likely refers to the Trump team's promise to lower the corporate tax rate to 15% from its current 35% -- a promise that Trump's pick for Treasury Secretary, Steve Mnuchin, reiterated Wednesday on CNBC.
You wanted evidence that Trump actually did something. I quoted a story from the NYTimes in which they cite both Trump and Carrier made statements that Trump was in negotiations with Carrier to keep at least SOME jobs here in Indiana instead of moving them ALL to Mexico. Now you raise the bar and want details. I'm sure those will be forthcoming over the next few days and months. Be patient; I'm sure you'll find something else to complain about in the meantime.

I didn't claim anything. There is no evidence to support he did anything. "In talks" doesn't say anything. Speculation is saying that he had any impact on any decision by any comany. Trump koolaid.

You haven't provided any evidence, other than they met. Yes I want details and so should you. I see the trump train hasn't changed. They believe anything he says, without question.

When I said President Trump could influence the economy without going through congress, this is better than my original thought. He is already demonstrating the method I said he would use. He is having an effect on Ford and Carrier before the electors have arrived or cast a single vote.
And I thought we would have to wait for him to be sworn in...
Please do not think that corporations all across the nation are not paying attention and considering the idea of Americans being open to further Business Leaders, Owners, CEOs and Professionals for the highest elected office in America..... Liberals shutter at the thought that a political nitwit will be able to compete for the office they are entitled to.....

And an equal amount of evidence to the contrary. More speculation. I'll ask again. Are you disputing's Carrier's own statements?

I provided evidence that they were in negotiations to do just that in the form of a NYTimes article, since a Trump tweet wasn't good enough for you. The NYT article claims some sort of agreement has been made that will keep some jobs here in Indiana and the details will be forthcoming. Yes, I would like the details, but I'm willing to wait and see what they are. I don't expect them to be plastered all over the internet the night before the official announcement is made in Indianapolis.
You gotta love it though... When dems are in power, the bar can't be set low enough. When the GOP is in power, the bar can't be set high enough.

He had talks with Carrier. Carrier confirmed it. Carrier made a different decision. His stated campaign promise to penalize leaving US manufactures with a 35% tariff I am sure had no impact. There is no evidence to support it.

Says the person attacking Trump day in and day out.
I understand skepticism. Even dislike. But you are way past trolling this issue. Proof after proof has been given but you will not listen. You are not stupid so this means your mind has been made up and nothing will convince you otherwise. And everyone here knows it. You are not fooling anyone.

Trump transition in chaos too slow in forming cabinet (speed blows away previous administrations)
Trump Transition team infighting on potential picks (Trump gets who he wants)
Trump Cabinet picks filling the swamp not draining it (so says the soon to be evicted residents of said swamp)
Trump can't keep his promise / threat to punish companies who move (Ford announces - they are staying) (Carrier announces - they are staying)
Trump must have given them a sweat deal (Trump reassures that taxes and policies will favor economic and business growth)
I haven't felt betrayed by trump yet. and given the people complaining about how his administration is shaping up.... Encourages me all the more.
If they are freaking out before the electors have cast a single vote, I can't wait to see what level of freaking out occurs 60 sec after he's sworn in......

I get the disappointment many are feeling. as well as the anger. But seriously acting like a spiteful troll spitting on everyone with a smile on their face, ain't doing anyone any good. It's that stupid honey and vinegar saying thingy.....

Perhaps one day you will open your lying eyes.
If you did, you would see interviews with people whose jobs were to be lost and now are saved. You may not want to believe Trump. They want to shake his hand.
