I have tried different waxes over the years and never liked the shiny waxy way that they looked. It looked like the way kids used to grease their hair when I was young. Like Brylcreem, if you are old enough to remember that.
If I don't use something, my mustache goes completely wild. So I tried something different. I found a product that looks natural, but controls my mustache at least a little.
It is not perfect, but is better than nothing. What do you guys do?
I keep a comb with me at all times and keep my beard "trained" and it works relatively well. I probably use the comb 5 to 10 times a day to keep it in check, the only real reason the comb is used that often by now, is from contact with clothing, such as turning my head while wearing a bomber jacket with the collar jacked up. My butcher shirts at work have a tall collar as well and come in contact with my beard in the same manner. Lately I get "bad hair days" on account of dry weather coupled with the body wash I use, which has a little bit of a drying effect on hair. Washing with a moisturizing shampoo would probably resolve that, but I get lazy. Wax works best in small amounts and applied with a toothbrush. If you cut the handle off, it's easy enough to keep in a pocket all day.
My apologies for not updating this thread. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Someone on another forum recommended Elmer's Glue sticks. They were serious. I did not try that. After trying a few different things, I have found that "beard balm" is the thing to use. It has none of that greasy look of wax nor does it turn to cement like some other things I tried. The brand doesn't seem to matter.
I got a little chin "goatee" only on tip of mynchin but i grew it a bit to look like king tuts fake beard , i wonder if it would look better if i waxed, it's currently nappy? Cuz me no shampooo it

On Christmas eve, we toasted a lost brother with a sip of Heineken (his favorite beer), and told some of the stories that couldn't be told at his funeral.
Stache is looking good. I have been using an Equinox Straight Razor from Amazon and Beard and Company's Protect Oil as a grooming oil and shave oil. I have a big beard but need the razor for my cheek lines otherwise I look homeless.
