But Religion and/or politics, people WILL ALWAYS fight. Get rid of it.

Do you have a problem with the US Constitution ? Specifically freedom of speech and the right to free assembly ?

I have seem many a fisticuffs in Tech.
V8 or 3800SC ? Many others.

I need to add a comment. Why do we need to find so many different forums and create/remember passwords ?
Here, I can get help with my computer, my dishwasher, my lawnmower, my hone HVAC system, I have seen people here asking for help with their Rustangs Ford Mustangs (joking on rustang). Many say this forum is the most helpful and knowledgable forum on the planet.

I have went round and round with jaskispyder here in T/OT. Often and contentionuously. Yet I pop into Tech seeking help and he is almost the first to pop in and give good advice.

Yes we fight but we also love. Perhaps we love to fight, ?
Cliff is making no money off our misery. No one looks at a slow train wreck. No one rubber necks a highway accident, and we don't watch racing to not see a wreck.

No, it doesn't have to be that way.

An intellectual mind can consider many ideas (theory's, beliefs, opinions, etc.) without adding emotion into it.
Insults & name calling have no place in an exchange between two rational adults engaging in verbal intercourse.
It is the signature of a weak mind.

If in doubt of the validity of the above concept, the next time you type a personal insult to someone, erase it, and simply type "I disagree".
Amazing.

I'll agree, did you ever give James (Jazzman) that insight? If so, he most surely didn't accept it.

Socrates tried to do just that. But was imprisoned and then poisoned to death as a sentence of his trial for speaking of such things as an intellectual in an intellectual way.

You are assuming I am a person with a prostate.

This qualifies as a triggering event which will be reported to the authorities.

By accident, I stumbled across this old thread from three years ago that I'd never seen before. Must've occurred during one of my sabbaticals from O/T.

Anyway, it's a slow news day, so I was just wondering...

Who the heck was it?

It was not me. I am being proactive here, because I have been accused of being that person. I will leave it to your imagination (Patrick) as to who it was that accused me of being that person.

I did use that Report This Post function, but I never approached those kinds of numbers with it. Not by an order (maybe two orders) of magnitude. If or when you see someone show up here and say otherwise, you can be confident--to the extent that you would take my word--that it was not me.

I have to consider the source before I believe anyone. But no, I can't see you resorting to those steps.

And just to quell any rumors... no, it wasn't me either.

I had three guesses, my first guess was Furgal and I alluded to that on the first page, which coincidentally, smoked him right out. The other two are still here.

This thread was not a bright spot in the annals of PFF Totally O/T.

Furgal, much like another member here (who also happens to be my second guess), was always trying to cast aspersions on my character. The origins of that particular exchange are in this thread: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum6/HTML/119885.html

It was someone who was banned shortly thereafter.

This guy reported every single post he did not agree with. Of from people he did not agree with in other threads. If you report over 10,000 posts, you have some serious issues. Here are a few examples of posts he reported:

I've found no information as to who actually burnt the flag, cowards always do their deeds in the dark or behind closed doors.
This is going to be an interesting four years..............

That one's perfectly understandable. The thumbs up guy only has 3 fingers. Obviously, this is some sort of birth defect and GTJeff (or whomever it was) was making fun of that. I think he should be banned or at least drawn and quartered.

Dobey was banned before this thread and Furgal and Tony were banned just a few months ago.

Keel (furgal wearing a dress) was banned six months after this thread. (Jan 2018)

I can't think of anyone else who was banned in that time frame.

I suspect the member known as ITR SOL possibly posted in O/T under another name... which may or may not fit Cliff's hints/criteria. I had commented Here to ITR SOL that he seemed awfully familiar with forum members for someone who (at that time) had only registered (as ITR SOL) two months previously.

I want you all to know, I've reported this entire post/thread to Cliff Pennock. Discussing Off-Topic discussions has no business being in Totally O/T.

Of the four referenced, I found that one to be the most offense to me as well. What does he think he's doing giving me a thumbs up. He doesn't know me, he doesn't know who I am and how I'm feeling. Who is he to give me such a sign and assume my emotional state without first getting permission?

Keel, being Furgal, would align with my original first guess.

I don't really remember him, either. I remember the name, but he made no lasting impression.

If you've got time to kill, you're all in This thread. ITR SOL wasn't around long enough to make much of an impression before he got the ban hammer. I'll give him credit though for standing up against stacked odds. Interesting that four participants in that thread have all eventually been sent packing.

Damn, you guys are making me look bad. Most days I can't even remember to put on pants before leaving the house, let alone threads from ages ago.
