9th? I had no idea there was anywhere near that many iterations of the Riviera...……

Yeah, that last egg shaped Riv was the 8th. I had one of those for a lot of years, ran it up to 235k on the odometer before giving it to a buddy, who promptly ran it off the road to avoid another car, and took a lightpost out with it.

GM just loves to shoot themselves in the foot. They're turning Buick into a CUV/Crossover only brand now. Why would anyone want to buy a Buick now, when they sell GMCs with the actual reputation and image?

The styling cues are unmistakable, from the shape of the grill to the iconic vent behind the front wheel. One of the few marques which has remained tasteful throughout all these years and consistently defied the old adage about “Give an Englishman a piece of steel...”

IMSA GT had it right, as in right-hand drive, as did Sean Connery as the original James Bond. That is an Aston Martin.

That design actually looked better on the larger Park Avenue. I had a '97, and loved that car. Untill somebody totalled it when it was parked in front of my house.

I will always love the 1st gen Rivieras, especially the '65. For its day, it was an absolutely stunning design.

Some of them had dual-quad 425's.

I had to be eight years old the first time I saw one. I expected to see George Jetson (and Jane, his wife) inside the car.
