Well, today we tied the record for the number of days in one year at or above 110o and there is not a break in sight. Sometime this coming week (or the next) we will establish a new record.
Usually, by Independence Day the Summer rains (inaccurately called monsoons) have started, but I haven't seen rain in so long, I had to look it up to make sure I was spelling it right.
As a good friend of mine says (when I complain about the humidity in Southern Mississippi), you knew it was hot and humid before you moved there, why are you bitching about it now...…
I remind him of that when he complains about how cold it is in South Dakota in the winter.
In East, West and Gulf areas a 90+°F day plus 70-100% Relative Humidity can kill easy even when you drink water because you sweating won't cool. Same reason anything acting as a "Swap cooler" often doesn't work well or at all in a lot of places. Spray bottles, mister nozzles and related might feel cool when first touch you but water just clings then won't dry fast and often feels worse. Many run AC at 75-80° or even higher just to dry the air so you won't get too hot and prevent mold.
Then add even DE PA and maybe NJ had Tornadoes this week and not just for Isaias. Two in DE and PA was on the ground a long time too. Tornado in DE was down for ~ 30 miles but seems no-one really hurt or killed.
------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. (Jurassic Park)
We are hitting 40c (104f) with humidex today and for the rest of the week. Considering I am 1km from this giant swamp cooler known as Lake Erie, I dont wanna know what they are getting further north.

Many places have good data like http://www.deos.udel.edu/st...dex.php?station=DAGF Run By U Del to cover local areas but a lot of East Coast are ~ same weather. example: the rain from one short "Popup storm" on sun.
Real temp is "only" 90-95 max this year but you swim to go to anywhere.
Note that %RH is directly tied to Temp etc and 100% here over night is easy even w/o rain in last 25hrs. Look like a "wet" night again. When you go out even during day time your clothes are quickly soaked and often don't cool you unless maybe have a lot on wind.
