I'm waiting on a few more items for it (muzzle brake, rear sling mount, extended bolt release, trigger springs, and ambi charging handle).
It's a pistol caliber carbine and just came out last month. It has a delayed blowback operating system to help mitigate recoil. The previous generations are direct blowback.
I just got back from the range about an hour ago. Put about 300 rounds through it. A mixture of Blazer and Herters 115gr and it performed amazing. Just had a stovepipe. It's brand new so I'm sure it'll need some breaking in but I'm very impressed so far. The recoil is very minimal and mag dumping is a blast.

Looks like a lot of it is made of composite. Serious question, would you prefer it was entirely made of metal, or is this an improvement? I notice a lot of rifles have composite materials now except the barrel, etc.

Looks awesome though...
The upper receiver is metal and and lower receiver appears to be some sort of polymer. It appears to be heavy duty though. And in fine with the lower being polymer, it makes it light. My CCW is an FNS-9C and that is also a polymer pistol (the slide is obviously metal) and it's been great. I have no reservations or concerns regarding its durability/reliability.
The Extra EP9 is made from polymer and it's very highly rated by several reviewers and owners.
That's the plan, it's not as powerful as an AR yet much more easy to use than a handgun. Not only that, but it's way cheaper to shoot than 5.56 as well. Right now .223/5.56 is about 45cpr+ but I can find 9mm for about 20cpr.
Just threw this old sling I had laying around on while I wait for my QD sling mount to arrive. It's actually very comfortable and works great rigged up this way. If I don't like how the QD sling mount is, I'll be using my sling this way instead.
Nice collection, but according to the official FN website the Five-seveN has a "One-piece machined steel slide Polymer cover" So yeah. The slide is not polymer.
I am an FN fan though. I love my FNS-9C and it's fully ambidextrous controls. Super reliable.

I was going to, but I read you have to get permission from the ATF to travel between states with it every time then. I go to a range by work in Ohio, but live in Michigan, so don't want to fool with it.
Yeah the ATF is insane. I'm happy my Stribog is a pistol so I don't have that issue and the brace is very sturdy and comfortable. I think I'll buy an ACR stock and modify it with a tailhook brace and throw it on. It's expensive but fairly popular in the Stribog community.
Yes, the ATF is insane. Also since I live in Michigan, I have to be careful and make sure I don't break any of their rules. I have to register my handguns and other things here. And unlike the feds, they measure rifles at the shortest fireable length, so I didn't get a folding stock for my AK to avoid any issues there.
I will get a suppressor for my FNX though. Last time I had the extra cash, the one I wanted was sold out.
I never heard of these Stribogs, I am going to have to look into them.
I didn't know Michigan was that crazy. Down in NC it's pretty decent. Just need a pistol purchase permit or a CCP to buy pistols. And the Stribogs come with folding braces so be aware of that.
The A3 is delayed blowback and just came out last month and Mr Guns and Gear did a review of it and it had quite a bit of malfunctions and people are freaking out about it. I decided to get one anyway and it's fantastic. I used some Blazer and Herters 115gr FMJ. I paid $1200 for it, which is steep, but I figure I'm "saving" money by not shooting 5.56. Not only that, but they're made is Slovakia and depending on how the election goes in November, Biden might issue an executive order banning the importation of "assault weapons." So it'd be wise to get one sooner rather than later.

The ATF rules regarding SBRs are silly. Putting a brace on it and calling it a pistol is so much easier.
Here's a shot of my 9mm AR pistol.
I hand selected the parts, and assembled them myself. It took some trial and error to get it reliable. But now it runs everything I feed it, from 115 to 147 grain... FMJ, hollowpoints, subsonic, supersonic, +P+, etc. I'm kinda proud of that.

I want to copy you. Can you supply a couple part numbers and where you got them from? Kick ass for home defense and a small mob coming in the front door!
Upper Receiver: AR-Stoner (standard AR-15, without forward assist or ejection port cover)
Barrel: Faxon 9mm, 10.5" long
Bolt: United Defense Labs 9mm
Buffer: AR-Stoner (extended 9mm, weighs 8oz)
Buffer Spring: Wolff Extra Power
Buffer Tube: KAK Pistol Tube
Pistol Brace: KAK Shockwave Blade
Magazines: EndoMag inserts in PMag Gen.2 shells
Pistol Grip: Mission First Tactical 'Engage V2'
I built that gun on the cheap, taking advantage of closeout deals and sales. I also used some parts hanging around in my gun safe, and stuff I got super-cheap from friends. For example, the handguard was a closeout deal. But it's a 10" free-float rail. Also, the muzzle device is an AK style brake that I bought many years ago. I had to ream it out for use with 9mm ammo. The flip-up sights were a one time sale. A buddy gave me the pistol tube and brace for next to nothing. etc etc. I saved money on the ancillary parts, so I could focus on high quality barrel, bolt, and fire control.
That said, this is still just a straight blowback setup. A radial delayed blowback system will be lighter weight, with less perceived recoil. Just FYI.

Installed the trigger springs, ambi charging handle, and the extended bolt release. They sent me an old version of the bolt release so I have to return it and wait for the updated version to arrive. I also bought a factory recertified EXPS3-0 from eotechinc.com for $400. Can't wait to put that on.

If you were to include a Magpul trigger guard on that list I'd call it close to perfect.
Well done.

Yeah, I'm sure. The Sig Romeo isn't bad, but the EOTech is a step up from that.
Got my EXPS3-0 installed along with the muzzle brake, sling mount, extended bolt release, and ambi charging handle. It feels amazing and I'll be taking it to the range on Sunday.
Thank you. I ran some Federal Syntech 138gr hollowpoints through it and it was great. I'm going to try and find some more boxes and test it out again. If it functions perfectly again, this will be my HD gun. Allegedly the Stribog is picky with hollowpoints so hopefully I found a good candidate for it.
