'First' because with over a dozen states projected to be still be receiving/accepting ballots well after Nov 3, it may be a while before the official count is done tho the winner will probably be known well before that. On that note, if it's extremely close, there may be a need for one or more other 'official' prediction threads.

My prediction is in opposition to my hopes, but I predict Biden will win in a relatively close election.
I also believe if this happens, the right will also lose control of the Senate.

How your state stands in relation to ballots recived after polls close on Tuesday:
https://factcheck.afp.com/b...counted-22-us-states

Edited to add, pursuant to the direction the thread seems to be taking or may take....
I could certainly be wrong, but I really don't expect much if any civil unrest regardless of who wins the vote.

TRUMP'S GONNA KICK EVERYBODY'S ASS!!!

OK, now that I got that off my chest....I got no idea. After 2016 I don't trust the polls and I believe there is a high probability of fraud.

I am pretty sure we will lose Martha McSally, Lindsey Graham and maybe the whole senate.

I also expect there will be some incivility in the form of intimidation, false claims of intimidation, and protests and riots.

I expect widespread unrest much like this last summer (or worse) if/when Trump is proclaimed the winner.

I am reminded of a line from one of the Eagles' most insipid songs: "We haven't had that spirit here since 1969"

(I like the Eagles, I just can't stand that particular song.)

It will only be a temporary victory if Harris loses. The war is already lost. We have wealth. "They" want it. They outnumber us in the world and our elected officials have sold us out to them. You won't vote your way out of what is coming.
And no. this is not the End Times. Only a narcissist would think they are important enough for that.

Dark times and end times are not the same. But there will be blood on both sides until we figure out we are all on the same side.
But we are getting off topic.

I predict that Trump will win, it wont be a land slide and there will be 4 more years of the same.
Impeachment, voter fraud charges, scandal's and criminal allegations.

2024 will be something to behold.

My state isn't a swing state regarding the Presidential vote. It won't be a contest here. But there is a history of sellouts in our Senators and US Reps just as there have been in Presidents as we had in the Bush family.

A fair election would reelect the current President. It's the vote counters who determine the choice though. Last time Comey probably sealed the deal with the late announcement regarding HRC.

I think Trump has more votes... but I think the Democrats will steal the election. I think they will win by ballot harvesting in the states that are going to allow it. Races will be close... but election fraud has always been a problem that primarily lies with the Democrats. For every one election / vote fraud you can find for Republicans, there are 10 times as many for the Democrats. It's always been this way, and it has more to do with the personality of the type of person who votes Democrat. I believe that to essentially be less emotionally stable, and supportive of the idea that "the end justifies the means." That is... Democrats are willing to cheat and steal because they feel ethically justified to do so.

I think the polls are wrong, but I also thing the amount of fraud is almost too great to overcome. There is no where near the enthusiasm for Biden that exists for Trump, we all know that. No one is excited for Biden, but fearful for Trump to win. Alternately, people are very excited for Trump, but fearful for Biden.

What I do know is... I’m getting 100s... God-damned hundreds of e-mails every single day from Trump, Biden, and every god-damned candidate in Florida and Texas. I get legitimately about 30-35 texts a day from various political candidates...

Trump victory by a few electoral votes election night around 3:00 AM, followed by Biden refusing to concede, two days of ballot counting, resulting in Trump winning by an even larger margin in the popular vote.

Then civil unrest for a week in blue cities. More lockdowns for Covid in areas where people allow the government to get away with it for a supposed 'second wave'. Potential civil war around Thanksgiving. West coast secedes. Texas declares independence again, kicks out Californians. China takes advantage of the situation to blitzkrieg Taiwan. World War 3. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

Democrats invent more scandals for the next 4 years trying to get Trump out of office and trying to keep him occupied and prevent him from fulfilling any campaign promises until the NEXT election when the Republicans can get another long-term career politician on the Republican ticket in 2024 to restore the status quo. Candidate similar to Trump runs as a 3rd party candidate, getting 10%ish of the vote.

Whatever happens, the left are going to be a violent problem.

If they loose (I think its a given) they are going to throw a huge temper-tantrum.

If they win, they are going to go into revenge/ vindictive mode because they feel bold.

Rough times ahead either way.

I believe Trump will lose the popular vote by ~4.5M votes. Florida and the rust belts will go Blue which will seal the deal with the EC.

The Senate will also go Blue.

President Trump will claim it’s a fraudulent result, but other Republicans will distance themselves from Trump (we’ve already started seeing a bit of this), and by the end of his term, Republicans will all but have moved on from this weird point in history.

Long term, Democrats will bring in more radical young progressives like AOC, and the Republicans will want to be seen as a steady consistent staple.

Just a couple days left! I don’t think Trump will concede for awhile, though.

Some say he was assassinated by people within his own nation. I have no opinion on the matter but he did make them angry by saying we joined the wrong side and should've fought the communists instead of joining them.

I predict that...

a) Biden will win the election.
b) O/T will be awash with excuses.
c) Trump will eventually be looked back upon by Democrat and Republican alike as an abject failure of a President.

Gimme a break, Patrick....Biden cant even spit out 3 sentences without garbled. He is an old man not fit for anything besides medical treatment.

Jill and Kamilla belong in jail for elder abuse.

I saw this same sheet with both grandma and mom when the mind goes...next step is finger painting, colorng books and teddy bears that talk back.

Been there done that...twice.

No, Julie Andrews does not have a flying bed no matter how much you rememeber it.

I predict that the "Yes on Question 1" movement will see electoral success, and that the official name of the smallest of the 50 states (smallest, geographically) will be changed from "Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" to "Rhode Island."

I predict it passes because of the increasing sensitivity and angst across all voting demographics, related to the historical memories of slavery in the United States and before that, slavery in the Colonies that became the United States.

The same proposal was voted down in 2010, with 77.9 percent of the vote going against the name change.

This is 10 years downstream from that epic defeat in 2010.

It's been a long and eventful 10 years. A decade that has often bordered on Dada-esque.

There's no longer any place for the P-word (plantation) in America's discourse.

I have already voted, while I didn't vote a straight ticket, it was difficult, I couldn't vote for a Liberal, Communist, Socialist or a "Leftist".

I am not confident in Republicans keeping the White House or the Senate. Done all I can do but, my prediction is that should Republicans hold onto either, we're going to see violence in our streets. Especially in Blue states.

I don't expect to see many (if any) rioting if the Democrats win. I spoke with a local LEO last night and I asked what LEOs were expecting, he said they were preparing for civil unrest regardless of who wins.

Monitor your 401K (retirement), keep your powder dry and watch your six.

I predict that if Biden wins, all the Republicans will say he cheated.. And if Trump wins, all the Democrats will say he cheated.

Simply because political pundits and hack journalists say so..

Because most people are sheep, they will believe whichever.

He's been pretty ineffective as a President. There have been just ok-ish Court appointees but have proven that they aren't conservatives nor Constitutionalists.
The cabinet and staff appointees have been failures, especially the son in-law.

He hasn't started a full on war. We don't hear about drone attacks on grandmothers hoeing the garden. He's given voice to some of what the silent middle class majority says to themselves.

All in all, he trolled his way to the office and didn't shift gears after being sworn in so the established crap-tards in DC trolled him back. It became a game of lowering the bar on each side and the insane side has no bottom or can't follow the ball so it just continues as we are seeing start in the other thread when one side has no ability to present their side.

"Yes" on Question 1 means . . .

Not cringing anymore when you need to declare your U.S. state of residency

Finally finishing the job your Providence-born parents and grandparents dedicated so much of their lives and livelihoods to

Getting a real dartboard for your basement, instead of aiming at a replica seal of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

Seal the Deal on Tuesday. Vote "Yes" on Question 1.

Rhode Island Democrats and Republicans alike hope this is the last you ever see of the words "and Providence Plantations."

Hmm. Didn't get any response in your R.I. thread so decided to bring it up somewhere there was a little action?
Here's a hint.
You won't get much in this thread either. No one really gives a crap about the tiniest state in the USA.
But nice try.

I lost a hundred bucks to a freaking bartender by betting on Romney to beat Obama. I’m terrible at reading the political winds but I was the only person in a group of over 50 to call Trumps win. I wasn’t even surprised frankly.

Trump is going to win easily. I believe this because it’s what I want to happen.

If it is meant to be it is up to me!

If it is meant to be it is up to me!

If it is meant to be it is up to me!

Seriously though, Trump is gonna bury Biden

Perhaps I am in the minority view of things after all.......(or I have more confidence in this nation)
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - George Washington University has sent an Election Day preparedness email to on-campus students encouraging them to "have at least one week of food, supplies and medicine" in their rooms.

"We suggest preparing for the Election Day period as you would for a hurricane or a snowstorm that would prevent you from going outside for several days to grab food or order takeout," the email reads.

The email suggests students stock up on over the counter medications and "supplies like aspirin, toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies."
https://www.fox5dc.com/news...head-of-election-day

(but I sure don't see anyone boarding up around here or issuing any guidelines for election night, or encouraging stocking up (hoarding) of essential goods..)

I am at the point that I really don't care anymore....Just get all the local and national attack adds off the TV radio and you-tube. I'd like just for once to have a candidate, any candidate come out and say... My opponent is a nice person but I'm better for the job.

I've yet to read the entire thread but I will after my post. Therefore some of my thoughts may have already been expressed by others. Some of them have been expressed by me before in other threads though some developments have tweaked them a bit.

Like you Don, I think Biden is going to win but I hope I'm wrong. From what I have seen, I think a lot of Trump supporters are over confident in their boisterous assertions about the landslide win he will have. Conversely, Biden supporters are very anti Trump to the point that I think we will see record voting numbers because of it. The current development, that I have not noticed in past years though maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention, of the daily lead in to who is winning what state as votes are counted. While many on the right seem to think that there will be a overwhelming amount of Trump voters voting on the 3rd rather than voting by mail or early voting. I think the confidence in Trump winning will lead to less of a turnout as many will think Trump can't lose and be less motivated to actually get to the polling place and vote. I say that assuming the daily counts show Trump leading or being difficult to defeat. On the other hand, I think anti Trump people are more livid and that this will motivate them to vote regardless of what the daily count shows. However if it shows Trump winning or being difficult to beat the vile hatred of Trump will double down on them getting out to vote. Basically I think the hate is the deciding factor. The left hates Trump more than the right hates Biden. It's not that the right likes Biden by any means, it's more that the confidence they display in Trump makes their dislike of Biden less of a driving force. The left on the other hand is relying more on the hate of Trump than the like of Biden. As sad as it is to say, I think the hate will win.

As to what I foresee after the election. If Biden wins I don't think things will change dramatically. I think there will still be police shootings and rioting/looting. I think there will still be protesting of state government officials from Mayors to Governors. But in general it won't be much worse because the right has more regard for the law in general. Could it escalate over time? It may very well do that especially if Biden/Harris proceed to pack the SCOTUS, which I think they will do. On the other hand if Trump wins I see an immediate escalation of protests, riots and looting. This may be mitigated to some extent if the left takes the senate and retains the house. However, as has been displayed before, the left will eat it's own in their "protesting"*. We saw some of it when Hilary lost and I believe it will be even worse this time if Biden loses. How much worse is hard to quantify by any type of magnitude. Twice, three times as bad, I don't know. Sadly it has already escalated in some instances to violent retaliation resulting in deaths. I think that will likely increase and don't know how much will break the camel's back.

I hope I'm wrong. We have done our part to keep our state where I want it to be. My old state appears to still be what I fled, probably more solidly so. All I can do now is wait and see what happens.

It felt like a "rage tweet."

The (two) Rhode Island "Question 1" messages that I placed here. My messages. Raging against the predictable.

It was in one of those gaps or interludes of two or three hours or more without any new messages from anyone else. I don't know that I wouldn't have "dun it" anyway, but I might have saved it for the next such gap. If it weren't for that gap.

I just went back and thumb-nailed that image that I used. As I don't want to be "big footing" this Topic; just offering some variety.

I won't be surprised either way.

Vote and pray is all I can do.

My voting place is rural, usually takes maybe ten minutes.
It took almost two hours to cast my ballot today, the line was very long.

The poll workers said that it has been super busy since they opened this morning.

That's good to hear. I hope voter turnout is similar to this across the entire US. That way, no matter who wins, we won't need to hear the losing side whine about how 30% of the population has determined the electoral outcome.

It has always rankled me that people don't appreciate their voice in government. The coverage of the Iraqi people showing off their dye-stained thumbs and the joy on their faces should be a lesson to free people everywhere.

Personally, I think the media outlets are waging a disinformation campaign. I think they're trying to make it look like Trump won't win, to sway the undecided voters. I also believe that media outlets engaging in such behavior should have their FCC licenses "re-evaluated". But that's just me.

That could just as easily backfire by motivating Trump supporters get out and vote.

Quit blaming the media for Trump's imminent defeat.
