Well I'll miss Boonie's posts here, I usually found them fun and interesting.
I can just chat with him on Steam, so it's not a big deal, but the forum will be a little less interesting with his absence..
And since we're talking about what Fiero's we have..
86 SE 4-speed 3.4 swap with a turbo (other assorted engine upgrade goodies) Koni shocks and struts, Eibach springs Heavy duty front and rear sway bars.
Got some really nice Momo rims on it that topher_time gave me many years ago.
It was also my very first car.. Dad helped me buy it when i was 16.. About 10 years ago we started "restoring" it. By now we have replaced pretty much everything in the car.. Just needs a new paint job.. (and a new clutch as its went out about 6 months ago, hoping to get that fixed next year.)

I recently joined that club. I was a Fiero owner for almost 25 years. I became "Fiero-less" about a year ago. But I still hang around. I still have knowledge to share. And some forum members are personal friends.
I still miss the Indy, but tossing a cane or crutches into one doesn't work out that well. Never mind rolling left and trying to get up from hands and knees.
Haven't been in this forum before recently so the major personalities here aren't all familiar. Patrick is. He exhibits more rational behavior in the other forums, but out of sync with his presence here. I like Patrick way better in the other forums.
I'm the same person in every forum. I'm the same person in real life. When addressed in a civil manner, I respond in kind. If/when talked down to, I have no problem responding in a similar fashion. For whatever reason, this seems to take a few people by surprise.
Perhaps my "behavior" in O/T reflects the general mood here.

Patrick, I am not going to diss you. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy the arguments from 2,000km away.
Maybe we got old, but this forum is full of pilots, soldiers, sailors, submariners, truckdrivers, ambulance drivers, mechanics, cowboys...yes even cops.
Look down. Grow a couple.
Thats not a diss. It's a little slap in the back of a skull saying "C'mon man. get up"
Believe me, an RSM will do a lot worse to you.

That unprovoked deflective insult is a perfect example of what I posted. You hide who you are on the other forums.
It's easy for me to see since I have no history in here and watching it is so glaring. And people who read and don't post are witnessing the real you.
OT has always been a bit more 'open' than the other sections and for a reason. For as long as I have been here, activity that will slide here in OT will get you set upon and banned much more quickly in sections like GFC, tech and the mall. It's not so much a case of anyone 'hiding' who they are but a case of 'discretion being the better part of valor'.
There are people in this thread that learned that the hard way and I would go so far as to say they go to great extent to hide who they are here in OT, if the behavior that got them run out of GFC is any indication. OT recently, has begun to move MUCH closer to those sections, after a few years of being the bad boy of PFF.

Unprovoked?
You're making history for yourself at a near record-setting pace.
I like topical discussions. Discussions about specific topics. How many of us want to see a "Let's dish (gossip) about Patrick" discussion, or a "Let's focus on olejoedad" discussion?
Conversations like that (and there's been a lot of it, over the years) are so "pre-August 15."

Even though I didn't appreciate his comments regarding me, I genuinely tried to give sourmasha thoughtful response. In return, I get accusations of a "deflective insult". It's obvious, despite his relative newness, that sourmash already appears to have an agenda.

Yes, it's that hiding of who they are that helps expose them though, isn't it? Casting discords from a place you aren't willing to state for defense when confronted is clearly hiding behind some invisible something. And it's not a mystery to anyone about the potential coarseness of the O/T discussions given the subjects. And really I don't think anyone is unclear about what I'm saying.

Here's an honesty test question. A simple one. Can you list the people responsible for Cliff having to start knuckling down?

I think part of it is typical hot topic subjects: politics, life style, racism........yada yada. Those things aren't a typical part of the other sections. I also think that the old saying "give them an inch and they will take a mile" comes into play as well. Cliff has not policed the Off Topic section with an iron fist. That has contributed to a mindset of, pushing the limits.
Here's an honesty test question. A simple one. Can you list the people responsible for Cliff having to start knuckling down?
I suspect in all honesty, that no one other than Cliff knows the true answer to that, since it was and is Cliff's decision, and the change may not have been tied to any particular members' activity at all.. Any lists by members would be pure speculation at best

I know it wasn't me. Will people be honest enough to point the finger at themselves? Usually no.
You don't know how to get over yourself do you, Pat? Much like Trump, you think you have to keep going to get the last word. Guess what? I'm not asking you so stop flattering yourself at someone else's expense. I quit wondering when I posted last night about what a centrist truly is, which triggered you to hiss some insults.
Even though you registered under this username four years ago, you weren't a presence here until a few weeks ago. Now you're everywhere, and know everything.
Going through a manic phase?

Yes, I can.
That doesn't mean I will.
As I said before, I like discussions abou particular topics, but not discussions that revolve around what any one forum member thinks about some other forum member in total, or as a person.
It's one thing to say "I disagree with Joe's thinking about this, or about that."
It's an entirely different thing to say "I don't like Joe." Or "Joe is this (or that) kind of person." Or "Joe is hiding something." Or "Joe ought to be taking my advice on how to be Joe." Or "Joe is a drooling moron." These statements take the forum into a space where (IMO) it shouldn't ever be.

I think a pretty good guess would be the same as a list of those who have been banned this year.

Lol, the pic. It's funny because it's true. Are all of them gone yet?

And while you say you don't do it, you just went into a complete sermon of how a person should and should not behave and interact. What a fascinating position you've illustrated. Fascinating straw-man situation.

See those high-lighted parts? Thanks for commenting on my behavior. It seems you meant to take part in what you say you don't do.
The politics and religion discussions are accurately warned about in that they alienate people either directly or indirectly. We enjoy the discussions and expressing ourselves but those drawbacks...
