I like this old sea shanty as theme music for "J6" or January 6 coverage and analysis.
I "see" House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy standing in front of a bipartisan choir, conducting the acapella performance, beating out the time with his hands, and in his right hand, a conductor's baton. He looks spot on to be cast in this role in the Broadway musical that surely has to be coming for the Christmas holiday season at the end of this year.

The timetable means that even jailed individuals at top priority are unlikely to go to trial before January or even next spring, with trials likely to start well into 2022 and continue in 2023, lawyers familiar with the investigation say.
Translate that timetable into the number of additional BREAKING NEWS updates from forum member "randye" that will be needed. At the rate of one additional BREAKING NEWS update per day . . . this is going to become a very long thread. Unless a charge of Insurrection or Sedition eventually emerges--I think that's not going to happen.

Evidence? You mean the Lego tower? lol.
We'd better arrest the people that own our local Chinese restaurant. They have all the major monuments built with Legos in the lobby. Their son (plotting his attack since Lincoln Logs I bet) builds them constantly.

Conspiracy ? What a joke. I doubt a case can be won proving that.

"Oath Keeper pleads guilty in major Capitol riot conspiracy case"
quote
It's the first guilty plea in the DOJ's conspiracy case against the group.
quote
A member of the Oath Keepers charged in the Justice Department's sprawling conspiracy case targeting the group for its alleged coordination during the Jan. 6 insurrection pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of conspiracy and obstruction of an official proceeding for his participation in the Capitol riot with other members of the far-right militia group.
Graydon Young of Florida was among the first members of the Oath Keepers charged following the insurrection and was accused of being part of that military-style "stack" formation the militia members formed as they walked up the Capitol steps before breaching the building.
According to D.C. District Judge Amit Mehta, Young's deal with the government includes a promise to provide cooperation in the government's conspiracy case against 15 fellow members of the Oath Keepers, including testimony before a grand jury and at trial, in addition to an agreement to sit for interviews with law enforcement in their investigation into the group's activities.
Judge Mehta told Young during the hearing that the estimated sentencing guidelines for his plea range from 63 to 78 months in prison, but that those figures don't include any potential reductions he could get if the government were to recommend a lighter sentence following his cooperation.

Conspiracy to use violence to gain entry into the Capitol Building by fighting with police officers, forcing open locked entrance doors and climbing through broken out windows (after breaking the windows), invade the working areas of the House and Senate and prevent Congress from certifying Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., as the 46th President of the United States.
It was planned even before the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and Three Percenters came to Washington, DC, to gather at the Stop The Steal rally in front of the White House on January 6. The conspirators planned their tactics--their tactical deployment in "stacks"--and used encrypted online communications to keep their secrets from the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. They used encrypted radio communications on January 6 as they implemented their assault on the Capitol Building and the police that were defending it.
They calculated with 100 percent confidence that a large number of the other Stop The Steal demonstrators would follow their lead, helping them to overwhelm the police, who were vastly outnumbered and ill prepared for the situation.

Political prisoners, held captive by a corrupt, despotic regime.
There was indeed an insurrection. There were skirmishes in places like Portland, Seattle and Kenosha. It culminated in a clandestine operation in November 2020. There was no war, only surrender.

There was even actual, provable, coordinated, "CONSPIRACY to interfere with government proceedings" (the very same thing a few of the Capitol rioters are being charged with)
.....and hundreds more examples....

But there's something that these other groups and other people didn't do:
They didn't force their way inside the Capitol Building and present a clear and present danger to the Senators, the Congressional Representatives and the Vice President.
What's the proper terminology for what happened to Ashli Babbitt?
"In recent days, judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys have all indicated that they expect few of these “MAGA tourists” to face harsh sentences.
There are two main reasons: Although prosecutors have loaded up their charging documents with language about the existential threat of the insurrection to the republic, the actions of many of the individual rioters often boiled down to trespassing."

Outside of your fevered imagination, there are ZERO statutes under federal law that define "clear and present danger"
Additionally, 10 CFR § 1047.7 - (Use of deadly force) similarly does not define or suggest "clear and present danger" but IT DOES explicitly lay out that Michael Byrd, broke the law when he murdered Ashli Babbitt.

What does it mean if someone's ratings bar is bright red?
You have, presumably, been a member here long enough, (15 years), to know what the ratings bar is and how it works, however in the event that your question Is not sarcastic I'll oblige you with an explanation from the forum owner:

Well Rick, I can only offer you the possibility of agreeing to disagree.
Calling it "trespassing" is like calling what happened to Hiroshima an "atmospheric disturbance."
We can agree to disagree, but using hyper unrealistic words and analogies is only distracting from what really happened. How much damage was caused by the trespassers? How many people did they kill? You can start by using the charges that they are officially charged with. Like Randye says, none of them are charged with attempts to take over the Government or harm any individuals. A nuclear bomb has killed many people, government takeovers have lead to the deaths of many more people. The trespassing did not kill any one, in fact the Government are the only ones that killed a person. So maybe you are implying that the Capital Police are the nuclear bomb and the trespassers are a mostly peaceful atmospheric disturbance.
The judicial proceedings will stretch from now, into 2023. I already reported on that, closer to the top of this page.
There was a conspiracy by a relatively small number of people who planned to force their way inside the Capitol Building, and they were working on it for weeks in advance of the Stop The Steal rally in front of the White House on January 6, which turned into the Capitol Building invasion.
Their objective from the very start was to interfere with the Congressional proceedings that were expected to certify the election of Joe Biden as the next President.
They weren't planning a peaceful demonstration.
The conspirators knew that if they took the lead in forcing their way past the police and into the Capitol Building, a much larger number of people would follow closely behind them--the hundreds of mere "trespassers"--and that the combined large number of people would create an impossible situation for the police.
Did the conspirators already know, even before they arrived in the District of Columbia, or before they moved on the Capitol Building during the afternoon of January 6, that the police readiness that they were going up against was completely inadequate for the situation?
That's how I'm thinking about it. I don't know of any credible reporting that would lead me to a different "take" on what happened.
The idea that the Democrats are just playing this up as a way to undermine or undercut the memories of the "George Floyd summer of 2020" of Black Lives Matter, antifa, riots, violence, arson, killings (etc.) across the nation--well, I'm not going to say what I think of that idea.
I may continue to check in here with new reports as more defendants are charged or as more cases move through the courts.
Especially if the reports have some "color" to them, like the one (it's on another thread) about the defendant with plans for a "Liberty Tavern" branded political podcast and line of cigars.
The judicial proceedings will stretch from now, into 2023. I already reported on that, closer to the top of this page.
Only because they want to use the January trespassing as a political tool. And tools will fall for it. IF there were any Justice here the same standard used on antifa and blm would be used,...guess what. The white Trumpers are the ones to go after because politics NOT justice.

Ok, so this is EXACTLY what I was talking about, hyper overblown exaggerated words. "Invasion" really? It was trespassing. Conspiracy? That isn't a big deal, 2 or more people plankton do something stupid, like trespassing.

According to you, ....can you read minds or prove that claim in court? Aside from the obvious political persecution of "Trumpers" the case against the trespassers is proving to be much more difficult than the democrats first thought.

I can agree that a very small group of idiots lead lemmings just like the dems that impeached Trump on bogus garbage. Those charges would not even hold up in court.

Given the sorceress you reference, I would agree with your statement. The courts will hash it out and most likely the appeals process will be used as well. That will be all you need, no need for biased media to tell people what to think or chew the food for those to lazy to do it for themselves.

As a cooperating witness, he's not going to be sentenced to anything close to 20 years of imprisonment.
But what about other people who may be charged with conspiracy and obstruction, based on this defendant's testimony as a cooperating witness?
I'm getting a "vibe" from this forum, of an impatience to box this up and put a label on it, when it's still very much a work in progress.
