NEW YORK — A grand jury in Manhattan filed criminal indictments Wednesday against former president Donald Trump's company and its longtime chief financial officer, according to two people familiar with the indictments.

The indictments against the Trump Organization and its CFO, Allen Weisselberg, will remain sealed until Thursday afternoon, leaving the specific charges against them unclear.

Earlier Wednesday, people familiar with the case said the charges were related to allegations of unpaid taxes on benefits for Trump Organization executives.

Weisselberg is expected to surrender Thursday morning at the office of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. (D), two people familiar with the plan said. He is expected to be arraigned later in the day in front of a state court judge. The Trump Organization will also be arraigned, represented in court by one of its attorneys. . . .

"N.Y. grand jury said to return criminal indictments against Trump’s company and its CFO, the first from prosecutors probing the former president’s business dealings"
Shayna Jacobs, Josh Dawsey, David A. Fahrenthold and Jonathan O'Connell for the Washington Post; June 30, 2021.

"This is the beginning . . . this is the beginning . . ."

What is the pop or rock recording (old) that I am trying to think of? Or am I just imagining something that doesn't quite exist, the way that I seem to remember it?

The "rinselberg Digital Time Lens" sees current Florida governor Ron DeSantis and current South Dakota governor Kristi Noem as the 2024 Republican Party candidates for President and Vice-President, respectively.

Campaign theme: "Trumpism without Trump."

Subheading: "Everything you liked about Donald J. Trump, without that bitter aftertaste of social discord and personal criminality."

In 2020 I couldn't vote for him after Kushner, Pompeo, Wray, Barr, Bolton, Nimrata Randhawa Haley and washing Bibi's feet instead of making America first.

They still had to pull a coup to get rid of him. There was no doubt charges would be brought against him. Hope he learned a lesson that feet kissing doesn't work. Hope the next billionaire was paying attention..

Yo' williegoat, you NAILED it! This what I was trying to remember more clearly. I must have heard it like a thousand times. But that was then. The continuity of my personal Space Time Continuum, from this moment, back to that time, along the directional axis of the Past or Backwards (looking) Light Cone . . . not so much.

I should not have been so harsh, sorry Rinselberg.
But I am looking forward to the next impeachment

I haven't looked at everything that got said on that other thread. I saw a little of it and thought I'd just let it ride without reading all of it.

I have been adding to the thread about the U.S. Capitol Building "breach" that 2.5 set up. Another DOJ press release about someone that's pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Obstruct Congress.

"The narrative that the Capitol protest was a 'deadly insurrection' is falling apart"

"Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a sane Donald Trump."

A line that's going around in certain Republican-peopled circles, said the NBC-affiliated provocateur John Heilemann tonight, on "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell."

That ties in to my earlier message on this thread:

A 3 year investigation and all they get is tax evasion through company benefits of an underling? And this type stuff is never criminally prosecuted. So yes, it stinks of politics.

He's been.positioning himself to take the support Trump had for his own Presidential run (or he'll settle for VP first). But he'll just prove to be the next Republican sell out.

Any politician who travels to a foreign nation to sign a law that's clearly anti-Constitutional (and anti-American) is selling out his fellow Americans and doing it so he can get the blessing/backing of a foreign state's donor class.

Sign a law . . . this law?

A federal judge on Wednesday blocked a Florida law that would penalize social media companies for blocking a politician’s posts, a blow to conservatives’ efforts to respond to Facebook and other websites’ suspension of former president Donald Trump.

The law was due to go into effect Thursday, but in issuing a preliminary injunction, U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle of the Northern District of Florida suggested that the law would be found unconstitutional.

“The plaintiffs are likely to prevail on the merits of their claim that these statutes violate the First Amendment,” Hinkle wrote. “There is nothing that could be severed and survive.” . . .

Oh wait. That must be a reference to when DeSantis traveled to Israel in 2019 and held a Florida state cabinet meeting in the newly relocated U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

He (must have) signed a law that is meant to thwart the BDS movement.

It came back to me, emerging gradually like an approaching car in the opposite bound lane, revealing itself as it emerges from a think, ground-hugging blanket of predawn fog.

"Legal threats to Donald Trump ‘more serious than ever before’, experts say"

Peter Stone(d) for the Guardian; July 13, 2021.
https://www.theguardian.com...n-tax-crimes-charges

Read-o-Meter: 6 minutes.

A survey of a number of ongoing legal investigations, civil lawsuits and criminal prosecutions that intersect or come close to intersecting the "Trump World" Venn Diagram circle.

You've heard of the Forever War(s) . . . is this the Forever Prosecution?

It's always "experts say".....

or "unnamed sources" or "insiders with knowledge" or "anonymous sources" or "former officials"

.

You LEFTISTS have to be THE MOST GULLIBLE people on the face of the planet......Like dimwitted children.

15 years from now you'll be shaking your shriveled , arthritic, little fist at the sky and yelling "The walls are closing in on you TRUMP!"....EXPERTS SAY!

By the way, one of the so-called "experts" in your latest piece of propaganda trash is Leftist Michael Bromwich

He was Christine Blasey Ford's AND Andrew McCabe's attorney.......yeesh! ...... so much for being an "expert"

It's a wonder that they didn't interview "expert" attorney Michael Avenatti too, but I guess they he can't get prison visitation privileges yet.

Hey goose-steppers..........You said Trump would "Win in a landslide" yet he LOST in a landslide....Then you said "Trump is ALWAYS right- they will never get anything on him!" and now he has criminal indictments filed against him......Next up, your statements that "They will never make anything stick!" will go in the crapper...

Soon we will have a REAL conservative party that won't just goose-step for Trump...You should call yourselves the "Trump-chumps" or the "Anything for trumpy" party.

Kennedy was awarded an election that Nixon won. Stolen election.
Trump won states that he wasnt awarded.
I didn't even vote for him.
