Anyone watch old Godzilla movies recently?
Godzilla, The Uncut Japanese Original (Gojira) 1954 is now on YouTube (Free w/ Adds that many ad blockers remove.)
Became Godzilla, King Of The Monsters! 2 years later for US release. Then and now have many weak jokes and often batched in w/ all movies w/ guy in bad rubber suits.

I haven't seen KOTM! in decades, Not sure if even seen the Original, so watch today...
I think many scene was very good and modeling of building etc have more details then most movies in the US in 50's to 70's.
Spoiler alert: Click to show

The big problem was that many Original scene where cut or dropped to shoe in Raymond Burr scenes so people never seen the rest of original film to know how good really was.

I'd be curious to know what Raymond Burr thought about that US version ...

Later on Red Shelton show several times and another Godzilla in 1977 so don't think bothered him.

At that time like many others likely was under Contract and had little to no choosing movies to be in.
He was in many movies per year back then like many others including kids. (14 movies and TV shows just for 1956.)
So He got paid to narration and some scenes likely made in the US and editing into the other. IOW was easy money gig vs many others.

Go to IMDB and look at RB... a lot listed is stuff you never find just 10 - 20 years later, even rarer or nonexistence now.

Godzilla !
Godzilla !!
Atomic Fire Crackers.
You're not nuts to think that it's real, lol !
/
Why citizens, comrades, if it wasn't for con-trails you all would be glowing green, breathing in the chemicals, changing.
Shortening the mean life expectancy of mammalians, plants, fish.
After all, the radioactive dust enveloping the planet will remain there for many centuries, slowly raining dna altering emissions,
morphing us all into sub creatures, morlocks, living beneath the surface in darkness, the wavelength of visible light into the red spectrum.
Get used to the idea that a revolution is nearing, people.
Cue the laughing nutter, Dr. Evil, that one with the white cat.
Muah..ah..ah.
lol !

Radioactive - Blake Lewis
Crank it this morning !

It interesting Godzilla is likely first movie mentioning Global Warming way before everyone else a long w/ anti nuclear.

Problem in Japan that Godzilla didn't see is that Corruption and Incompetence in the government is why Fukushima nuclear disaster happen and contaminated worse because of the melt downs.

I like Imagine Dragons and Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix cover better.

I like the original (Raymond Burr'd) Godzilla (never seen the original in Japanese w/subtitles)(I'll have to try it)

I also like "Son of Godzilla"....Funny and pretty good.

All of the rest (Including the new versions) are bad...But the worst by a country mile is "Godzilla's Revenge" (Also called "All Monsters Attack") It uses the baby Godzilla(From "Son of..") but he talks with a young boy who is being bullied....The most idiotic part is at the end when the boy plays a "prank" on a sign painter to gain favor with the school bullies....Horrid values to teach a child!

The mythology of Godzilla is that it is displaced anger, represents the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan and the death and destruction that came from it, and directs their rage toward the fictious monster Godzilla. Why is there never a movie about how the Japanese suffered from the atomic blast? Because it would not be politically sound. So, we have Godzilla. Interestingly as he matures, Godzilla come to be a defender, against other monsters.

Other monsters that help them pushes "green agendas" like...
Godzilla vs. Hedorah w/ Slime monster
Godzilla vs. Gigan w/ Eco-terrorists and speech bubbles for Godzilla and Anguirus

Many have Comical fights...
Two monsters playing baseball, soccer, volleyball, even "pro wrestling" in various "Fight" scenes.
Godzilla even dance in Invasion of Astro-Monster

Hated All Monsters Attack.
In the end the Kid isn't anti-bully but want to be leader of the gang.
Limited how bad you feel for the sign painter. Is own Fault falling down and spilling paint.
Even that pushes anti pollution.

Quality goes down too and very easy to see real or model even in the 60's and 70's.
No wonder the series became a joke factory.

And while Tetsuo Teri accidentally made a device to fight the aliens and now maybe a "hero" likely will have problems making anything else that matters or have a job. Can't ignore the invention basically failed as design use and he didn't get money for selling either because of Contact Terms...

Godzilla dance in Invasion Of Astro-Monster @ ~ 50 minute mark after ending of first fight w/ Ghidorah
