Sounds like he had decent reasons to take an early retirement from the position.
I wonder what other positions across all of the earth's employment fields will be filled by people not by their qualifications but by their skin/gender/other qualifications, and what the long term side effects of this will be. Standards twisted and destroyed, surely there will be no detrimental effect right? This not even considering the negative mental / social effects.
