Does Everyone like the new background in the 10/24 PPF?

I was so happy to see that Pennock updates the site to this background to get into the season. It's always a fun touch but I was wondering if everyone is enjoying the halloween theme?

Even still... I like it, it makes it fun.

I also recognize how stressful (though rewarding) running a site like this can be. We all take for granted that it's "there" every time we type in Fiero.NL... just as we make coffee in the morning. So I appreciate the little touches you do, in addition to just keeping it running.

You do know that the fastest way to get here, is by typing fieroforum.com 😊

Guess I don't pay attention to details like I once did......I thought I remembered the web being different and possibly in a different location...and guess I also never noticed the creepy hand coming up behind the "FIERO" logo....I did remember the Jack O'Lantern in the upper corner though....

Still looking for the spider.....

I have been typing Fiero.NL for 20 years, and I have no intention of changing that behavior... hahah...

Cliff, what's happened with the graphic indicated by the arrow? It appears to have been lost, possibly as a result of this year's Halloween decorations. (The ability to choose the graphic has also disappeared from the message posting box.)

It's probably missing in the style sheet. Let me check.

The spider doesn't bother me. Knowing where it came from does.

I like the background, but my computer doesn't.

Scrolling, or moving the cursor is "jerky". Also makes the cursor leave "trails".
To be fair, my computer is about two days older than baseball, so I can't complain too much.

'Ya know, you just had a Halloween thread about spoofing Jane with spiders. Seems like I had three witty questions.

Let's see, ....

Where did you get the spiders (no answer needed) ?

Is the payback a biatch ?

The third one might come back to me. I do remember being curious if Cliff's spider decor placed evil ideas in your head.

I don't remember what year when it happened, it was for sure a few beers ago, someone told me they put a ?tarantula? above the sun visor. It sounded humorous to me, until, I thought seriously that it might cause a car accident, in unknown to me conditions, perhaps a heart attack, you know, unintended consequences.

However, since you have already toughened Jane up, placing one above the passenger sun visor would up your game.

Thanks Cliff.

My home PC is ancient as well (although it was a powerhouse HP workstation in its day), running Win7, and I have no trouble viewing this site with the Halloween theme using Google Chrome.

However...

If I try and view the site using Firefox, this is what pops up within a minute or so...

For some reason, (from a long ago post I think)I thought I remembered the PFF spider file or app being named "Spider from Mars".......

My ever evolving halloween decorations are about done, tho I did have to bring some inside the garage during a storm last night.

From this:

to this:

The tall slim bush you see on the far right of the flowerbed and just above the wooden spider is actually 2 Jalapeno plants. I get 4-5 peppers a week off them, as long as I keep the green horn worms off. They'll eat every leaf off in a single night. They've done so twice this year but the plants keep coming back and producing more foliage and peppers.

Painting that old clay flower pot was a real pita since I'm not allowed to lift anything or bend over much but it came out ok.

Lighting is on a timer so it seems to work hands free a few hours each night.

Pumpkin carving tips ?

It's been 20+ years since I last carved a pumpkin. Due to locations and trick treating foot traffic. Also aged children.

I remember doing the usual cutouts for eyes/nose/mouth, after I chose a facial design. I then carved from the inside out to next to the rind, for scars, tears, eyebrows, what not.

I have looked on the web and did see that pumpkin carving can be an art / sculpture. I wanted to hear from y'all.
