I was watching a Youtube restoration channel and they bought a few vehicles from a Texas field. They did not say what the vehicles were but the one I am interested in was an International truck from I believe the 40's. Any of you big rig historians know what model this is? I can't find anything on Google and even on the show the person comments that he has never seen one before.

This was the only photo I could find on Ebay of a 40's International but even this photo has different windows and no air boxes on either side.

On the right is an air filter, but on the left is an oil filter and most likely carries the brand name LuberFiner. They could be found on most any model.

I will see what I can come up with.

Quite possibly late '40s KB-7?

Maybe?

OK, here's what's throwing me: That sleeper cab ain't right. I think it is from a different truck. Maybe a White?

Final answer (guess?): hood and fenders from an International KB-7, sleeper cab from a White/Autocar.

What do I win?

I guess you're correct. It's a mix and match which is why the guys on the show said they've never seen that design before.
I appreciate the help on this.
I guess I'd have a ton of work building one of these. I thought that I could get lucky and just buy 1 truck, not 2 different brands and join them together

Revised final answer: That is a White with an International hood and grill.

How do you like them apples?

Love it. What caught my interest was the fact that when you look out the side windows, you can see forward too

I love that mix of the International with the Autocar cab.

as a kid in the mid 50's twice yearly migrations mo-town to mia

I remember seeing stacked trucks 3 or 4 big rigs hooked up front wheels up on backs
some times bare no cab just frame wheels and motors so I guess body/cab swaps were common

They call that "drive away tow away" and are usually headed for coachbuilders or truck body companies; motorhomes, firetrucks, mixers, tool body makers, etc.

I came across this video this morning. KB-12 was the Big Daddy of the K series.

Don Robertson passed in 2016. His Gold King Mine Museum is one hell of a place for old gearheads like me. I first met him back in 1982 when I had the first Honda V4 in Arizona and I had a SuperTrap exhaust. I rode up to his museum and he was standing at the entrance waiting for me. He was listening to that bike all the way up the road and had to see what the hell I was riding.
